PATRIOTS NEWS OFFICIAL: Patriots Finally Acquire AJ Brown

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
It is year 2 of a rebuild.
It is year 3 of Drake Maye's rookie contract. It is year 4 of Christian Gonzalez' rookie contract.
A very flawed team made the Super Bowl last year. They've spent the offseason filling a lot of those holes.

This is the window. This is what a successful rebuild is supposed to look like.
This.

The time is now.

FOUR years ago, he traded a picks that became Treylon Burks and Jeremy Ruckert for him. He traded him away now because he’s paying Hurts $32 million dollars this year.
Maybe. You have the same insider information as Roseman to make such a claim? Yeah, I didn't think so. You are guessing and Roseman has the facts.

I guess the $32M a year is if you include the dead cap on Philly's books.
That's not the Patriots costs.
And since there is zero signing bonus on the Patriots, it's much easier to cut him earlier and avoid some of the out-year dead money.

Roseman is a top GM in the whole NFL. Maybe you are not aware of that. Roseman has all of the insider medical information. He is dumping Brown with a huge cap hit in '26 and '27 after paying a huge price to trade for Brown two years ago. Have you asked yourself why?
He traded for Brown 4 years ago.

Ah, now I understand.
Another homer who has lost prespective and thinks the championship window is wide open.
It is Year 2 of a rebuild, get a grip.
They are defending AFC CHAMPS and have an mvp candidate qb. How could the window NOT be wide open?

Well, it is apparently what you hope it is supposed to look like. But one does not look for a reason to be happy; one establishes a basis in reality for legitimate happiness. This is like a guy who puts those asinine spinner wheels on his Corolla.

28 going on 29 is not old.
He turns 29 this month.

29 with bad knees in the NFL is old.

Greg Jennings retired at 32.

All these guys are 32: Odell Beckham, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Mack Hollins
33? Davante Adams is then oldest WR in the NFL. That's it. No one else is 33. Randy Moss went to 33.

When you think of these guys, you think: they are old and close to done.

If things go very very very right, we'll get 3 good years out of Brown.

But if he gets injured, then less.

Well, I suppose reality might have its say down the line. This happens, a lot.

Aren’t you claiming you do?

It is year 2 of a rebuild.
Agree.

Show me any other NFL team that wins the SB in Y2 of their rebuild. I respect and appreciate you are a homer. Not upset here, just think you have lost it when you are usually one of the more balanced posters.

One think we can agree on. YOU CAN NEVER AGAIN MAKE FUN OF @PatsFan2

LOL. Just heard from my PR guy. He says my Q-rating is way down. What gives?

Good point I doubt he’ll undergo a physical before making the deal. Maybe you should reach out to them and make sure they do their due diligence which I doubt they’ve considered.

Or mope around that we’ll miss out on a 26th pick or so two years from now.
100%
Its like some don’t think the Patriots know his knee was dinged. I’m sure they know

I could care less about the fifth rounder… It’s the first round of it is potentially devastating… Like everyone says all depends on what AJ Brown does this year and next
The Rams have been shipping out 1s forever and it hasn’t been devastating to their franchise.

So then you can trade him to the Rams in 2029 for a first...

Hey, just because you can't see the spinner rims doesn't mean they're not there.

In all seriousness though, if your position is "Let's see what it looks like on the field", then I'm in 100% agreement with you, as that's always my default position.

The amount of snaps our rookies took last season was insane. That is not the norm. A 2028 draft pick wouldn't make an impact, realistically and historically, until 2029 - which would be the first year of Drake Maye's new contract. That will be year 3 of AJ Brown as a Patriot.

Also drafted Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson which is the main reason for the need to splash on AJ in the first place, Howie is a good GM one of the best if not the best but the guy isn't a god they all make big mistakes.

He has made some absolutely bonehead moves like anyone else.
Sorry according to some people he
They are defending AFC CHAMPS and have an mvp candidate qb. How could the window NOT be wide open?
Because a lot of people don’t have much else going for them other than being contrarians

3 years of teaming an all pro caliber WR with your MVP caliber QB on a SB contender is worth a lot.

Are you honestly against this trade?

Homers? What sort of 3-4 year plan did you have in mind that involves paying Drake Maye at the top of the market for his position by the time that plan ought to have results?
Show me any two year rebuild NFL plan that led to a SB? I have no idea how to respond to someone who thinks the SB window is open.
So you'd rather see them manage this team based on fear. Cool
Really immature response.
