Glad it’s official. Im a homer but i feel like this is going to pay off big and he is going to go great with maye while opening up the entire offense. the cherry on top to a great offseason after upgrading the ol, fb, and depth at te. This offense is going to explode imo.

But one is still elite and Waddle is just a couple years younger.

I think it’s a fair trade for both parties.

What I was the most worried is Drake Maye regressing because of the lack of weapons. If Drake can continue to get better because he doesn’t have to carry the entirety of the offense early in his career then it is worth a 1st to me.

We can critic wolf for paying too much but we can’t critic him for not giving Maye help.

Since they drafted Maye, they have:

- Drafted 2 T in the 1st round
- a RB in the 2nd
- a WR and a TE in the 3rd
- signed Diggs and Doubs
- Traded for AJ Brown

The trade can only be judged after the next 2 seasons, especially 2027 for this trade to be good the Patriots have to be a playoff team in 2027 if we're giving them a pick in the top half of the draft it's a disaster.

Yep. If the performance is there, it’ll be worth it. That’s really the gamble in this trade.

If so i wonder if they keep him or ship him. Frankly he will probably get them a 2028 5th rounder anyway cause someone is going to pay him a bit i think.

I don't see him having a spot on this team with Brown here. Doubs kind of takes his role and should do it better. Williams stretchs the field. Hollins in the big body.

Good point I doubt he’ll undergo a physical before making the deal. Maybe you should reach out to them and make sure they do their due diligence which I doubt they’ve considered.

Or mope around that we’ll miss out on a 26th pick or so two years from now.

This ain't about the player. It's about the compensation.

They player wanted out. He only wanted NE, and it was going to happen.

I’m so excited about this. Maye now has an excellent #1 receiver and a solid #2 in Doubs. Like I’ve said several times, both excellent route runners, get open, and have excellent hands, I think they will catch 125 passes between them (at least). Also opens up the middle of the field for Douglas & Henry. Best receiver corps we’ve had in ages.
