PATRIOTS NEWS OFFICIAL: Patriots Finally Acquire AJ Brown

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
Pending physical. If he passes the physical I'm not that concerned about his knees.
Not "that concerned". LOL. A two year patch by a management team that said they were thinking long-term and wanted to get younger. And you are not "that concerned". OMG.

Don’t like it for reasons I’ve stated before: questionable knee, 29, big contract, and most of all - being whiny and selfish on a defending SB champ.

Now to think it’s for a first during the time Drake will have been extended and cost a zillion dollars…so there goes that high-end cost controlled talent when we need it most of all.

Rap (per Insiders) says it's done.

2028 first and 2027 fifth to Philly for AJB.

Nothing yet on whether it's conditional.
It damn well should be conditional.

But one is still elite and Waddle is just a couple years younger.
Elite by what standard? Not elite to the Eagles who know the most intricate details and just dumped him with a huge cap hit this year and next.

Seems like a bit high I am just glad no players left

I think because no one else was in the bidding war with us, you would think we could have negotiated a better deal…. Oh well, hopefully he becomes an offensive force here and becomes a great patriot…
Just because no one else is buying doesn’t mean Philly had to give him away cheap.

He’s still worth a 1st rounder, especially when you look at some of the guff the Pats have spent a first on.

For years the Pats have never had a genuine elite #1 WR. They do now, and he’s going to be catching passes from one of the best QBs in the league.

This is a happy day for me!

Patriots will use him right. His skills will be utilized to the max imo. Plenry of Short slants for big gains which will soften up the sidelines and the deep stuff that Maye is one the best the league. Cover 6 shouldn’t be a problem for Maye anymore with this guy. Opens up so much success for his teammates with the attention he is going to demand. They gonna love that. One of the better blockers in the league too, Henry and Barkley probably concur.

There is familiarity w Vrabel, I trust Josh, and Maye is the runner up to both the SB & MVP.

Wondering what type of fun things will happen to Doubs or even Henderson when opponents lock in on AJ.
There’s a school of thought that tons of receivers could put up big numbers if you design plays with complementary routes designed to get them open and make them the primary target a lot. I think that was Diggs last year.

But having a guy who can thrive in that role is a big piece of the puzzle. Our offense has always spread the ball and rarely has had guy like that. Browns production may go down coming here, while his value goes up because he contributes to why other guys are producing.
It will be harder for him in our offense but him in our offense makes it easier for everyone else.

This is a mistake, the sort of thing the Jets would do, snatching at shiny objects, overpaying for has-beens. We had a nice little rebuild going there, based on draft and develop; now we're like the fat lady shopping for eight-pound bags of pork rinds at Walmart. Enjoy...for now. I'll get back to you.

A pro bowl wide receiver is a pro bowl wide receiver, but a first round pick could be anything! Even a pro bowl wide receiver! You know how long we’ve wanted one of those!

At least Waddle has two healthy knees. That sort of thing is important for a WR.

Waddle has played every game in a season exactly once in his career. He isn't exactly a WR who is guaranteed not to get injured.

Love this! But what are the cap implications to the Pats?

Not "that concerned". LOL. A two year patch by a management team that said they were thinking long-term and wanted to get younger. And you are not "that concerned". OMG.
Like I said the trade is pending a physical. If they find his knees are bad then no deal. I'm not worried about it. Very unlikely the Patriots will have an awful season in 2027 making them miss that pick anyway. Ideally I would have liked to see it be conditional but I guess that's not the case or at least nobody has reported it.

Good point I doubt he’ll undergo a physical before making the deal. Maybe you should reach out to them and make sure they do their due diligence which I doubt they’ve considered.

Or mope around that we’ll miss out on a 26th pick or so two years from now.
Immature response.

Next we will see the give away boutte for next to nothing
Because while I like Boutte he is a JAG that is worth a 5th or a 4th at the very very best. He is in the last year of his deal will want probably around 10-15M per year in his new deal. Nobody is trading a top 100 pick for that

Waddle has played every game in a season exactly once in his career. He isn't exactly a WR who is guaranteed not to get injured.
So? Does Waddle have two healthy knees or are you purposedly avoiding the issue?
