March for Arch
Nah, that was all you!Dude neat I just got it M-arch.
My son (15) made a great point today…”How pissed are you this am of you are Jared Verse?”Browns are getting a great player who's 25 a first round pick + more for a guy who's 31 years old when they have no chance of doing anything short term anyway.
Garrett is fantastic but he's 31 but with Stafford in his last 2 years it makes sense for them to get 2 years of prime Garrett.
I like the Browns side of this deal though, Verse is a really nice player and as much as we all expect the Rams in the NFCCG Stafford at his age is one hit away from that pick becoming top 10.

Very good player, but overlooked/underrated. Now, he’s going to football purgatory. My son (15) made a great point today…”How pissed are you this am of you are Jared Verse?”
I think the broader point though, is that they expect McVay will make him slightly serviceable like he did with Goff, and then he’ll trade Simpson away 4 years from now as part of a blockbuster package to get an established QB who can’t get over the top and is straddled with being in a consistently bad organization. Maybe someone like Justin Herbert or Trevor Lawrence.I think they are about to learn a hard lesson if that is true. Simpson has “piss down his leg” gene where if things aren’t perfect, and his weapons aren’t vastly superior, he crumbles. Basically Mac Jones but Jones was much better at Bama.
Garrett is not 31 until December so he's playing the season as a 30-year-old. An average edge player would hit a severe decline after 32. BUT the elite players, barring injuries, tend to play well into the mid 30's. So likely 3 years of great play followed by several years of good play.Browns are getting a great player who's 25 a first round pick + more for a guy who's 31 years old when they have no chance of doing anything short term anyway.

Goff is leaps and bounds better than Ty Simpson.I think the broader point though, is that they expect McVay will make him slightly serviceable like he did with Goff, and then he’ll trade Simpson away 4 years from now as part of a blockbuster package to get an established QB who can’t get over the top and is straddled with being in a consistently bad organization. Cap hits this year and next also super reasonable. 2029/30 get ugly thoughGarrett is not 31 until December so he's playing the season as a 30-year-old. The 2027 pick could very well be #32, if Stafford stays healthy, they are the Super Bowl favorites. Browns mistake was not trading him 2 years ago where they might have gotten multiple firsts and a player like Verse.
Goff gets really no love. He’s a decent NFL starterGoff is leaps and bounds better than Ty Simpson.
Oh sure, I agree with that, Goff was a legit high draft pick while Simpson is questionable at best. My point though is that McVay has done enough with QBs that I expect he’ll be able to dress Simpson up a bit and then upgrade via trade at some point. We’ll see though, maybe Simpson will be the guy that breaks McVay.Goff is leaps and bounds better than Ty Simpson.
