Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

Points taken. I'd add the guys that helped get us to the 2nd season when Tatum was out.. like Hugo for example he can't even Crack the line up? Why? He can provide some fresh legs some hustle and he can hit shots. Here's why we are truly and honestly losing.

1. Embid- no answer for him.
2. No one not named Jordan Walsh can make maxey work.
3. D white love the guy but he's struggling and isn't even looking for his shot.
4. Drop coverage is killing them..
5. Mixers top 3 scorers are playing better than our top 3 scorers.

Game 7 isn't a guarantee.. we lost game 2 without embid at home. We have been kept under 100 points for 2 consecutive games.

Nonetheless they achieved alot this season and there's still more moves to make this off season.. I think D white may get moved.

Hugo hit the freshman wall about a third of the way through the season. His D fell off and he had quite a few dumb fouls.

Jordan Walsh is an excellent defender, but as I said before this series - with the refs swallowing their whistles (seemingly only when the Celtics drive to the hoop), he's getting called for a lot of ticky-tack fouls on Maxey. Oh - and as mentioned earlier, they flop a lot!

Some of y'all are overlooking a prescient fact:
I said this early in this series- when Embiid is healthy, Sixers have THE best starting 5 in the NBA. Their depth is not great but that starting 5 is tough. And now, theyre putting in the effort to play defense.
If they win, its not an upset.
Mazzula has proven he's a top coach in the league.
Players have no heart? ********!
If you're gonna criticize, at least hit on truthful criticisms. There certainly are some.

You are mixing in your personal opinion with the reality of the situation. I agree with one thing, Embiid being there changes everything. All though if you look at Celtics reddit lol.....What a clown show that is. They deluded themselves into believing it didn't matter if he played or not or that he made the Sixers worse. The C's were up 3-1, and are still heavily favored to win game 7 despite everything. It would be another upset on Joe's resume even if you personally think otherwise.

Especially Embid an 7'2 giant and he has to flop.. Embarrassing... I love the depth on this team and sometimes coaches need to play guys to give them play off experience and let them grown thier confidence there's really no one outside the Js that you could say you have 100% confidence in they can get thier own shot right now even they are struggling. Going to have to do something different today or the off season is very early this year.

They had a great regular season and there Will be changes in the offseason.. I believe they move D white.

This type of ball is hard to watch. It happens way too often. Oubre does the same **** all the time. It's one of many reasons I hate their coach. He encourages this type of behavior.

Embid may be my least favorite player to watch in the NBA. Totally ruins the game. That said, you really gotta not fall into his traps ... it's what he does and does well. Frigg'n NBA really should be advising the refs to watch for this crap.

Agreed - not that I think Queta has played well... between he and Vooch it is illustrating that a long term banger at C is needed. Queta has his strong and weak points of his game and his weak points are on display.

That's sure to be a priority in the offseason (and yes, they do have the flexibility to do that)

Not that I'm blaming Queta for any of this - it's a team sport and it will be on Tatum and Brown to lead the way. Let's see how they handle the pressure on them not to let this opportunity pass.

Embid is 32 and injury prone, Paul George is 30 plus injury prone as well.. these are the guys beating us aside from Maxey..

Was listing this morning on the radio this very same point you're making came up. You can bet the Cs are going to sign or trade for another big man banger this offseason.. don't know what Amari Williams will become as a player. The Cs have been kept under 100 points in all their losses this series. That's a problem!
Really don't know what they can Really do other than play better.. I don't have much confidence in winning tonight but either way they had a great regular season and established some great depth going into next season and beyond.

Imagine if he just tried to actually avoid contact and score rather than flop on every play. He’d probably be a 3x MVP with limited injuries.

They live and die by the 3 - when it works it works and when it doesn't, you need a real center for the inside game.

I don't think we can even lament not having Horford or Porzingas at this point in their careers (not that we could afford them) - but it does show that with just one more quality piece, plus all the money they can pump into the team once they get through next season, could have them very dominant for a nice stretch.

They might be able to trade for that final piece at C next season without triggering the luxury tax and either extend them the next season or go back to the marketplace with all the $ they need.

This season is unexpected gravy, much like the Patriots, but they still need to take advantage of this opportunity - no excuses

How are they still favored by 4.5? I don’t know if I’d pick them EVEN.

Dude, suck my ****.

I believe the phrase is, "FAFO". Series should have ended in 5, it didn't... And now look. They literally never learn. Another lost season.

Tatum out with "knee stiffness"? Strange.

I might try something different. Maybe have White deny him the ball all over the place and leave Queta underneath? I dunno. Straight up, especially without Tatum, ain't gonna work.

... and then some. If they can make it a chaotic game, they have a shot. Just keep running fresh bodies in there, pressure everything, run like crazy.
