Pundit mock drafts 2026 [maybe with FAILs]

The first four picks were ok - I wouldn't be thrilled nor consider them a disaster. Just a note on the Boerkircher pick, Roush, Klare and Delp were gone by this point. Day 3 was a bit of a disaster but they were rushing through it at that stage.
I'm ok with Parker & Davis

7 round mock from Dane Brugler

For the Pats

31. Blake Miller, RT, Clemson

Iheanachor still on the board.

63. De'Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss

95. Bryce Boettcher, LB, Oregon

125. Max Llewellyn, EDGE, Iowa

131. Nate Boerkircher, TE, Texas A&M

171. Dalton Johnson, S, Arizona

191. Jeremiah Wright, RG, Auburn

198. Andre Fuller, CB, Toledo

202. Cyrus Allen, WR, Cincinnati

212. J'Mari Taylor, RB, Virginia

247. Damonic Williams, DT, Oklahoma

Best name in the draft.

Went a bit awry in the 3rd-5th and I hate the lack of quality edge rush. first two picks are good, although I'd take Iheanachor and I like round 6.

Not a fan.

Im not the biggest OT in the 1st round guy, but i at least understand the value. But if you go OT in Rd1, you cannot wait until the late 4th for an edge.

I like Stribling at 95, but not at 63. I get hes rising on boards, but simply better WR's available. Brazzell and Hurst still on the board, and are better prospects. But, WR wouldnt be my pick if it fell that way. Seeing the run on edges(which is one of the issues of not taking one in Rd1) tells you the options at 95 arent going to be great. Derrick Moore is the obvious choice for me, but Id be fine with Crawford or Barham as well.

I like Boettcher, but 3rd seems early. Hes a good potential replacement for Spillane but not really next to him. That means we've taken 2 potential redshirts with the first 3 picks. I dont think the Patriots are good enough to be in that position.

Day 3 is fine, and I like some of the picks. But the combined haul on days 1 and 2 arent the best IMO.

For the Pats

31. Blake Miller, RT, Clemson
As an amusing side, Chad Graff picked "The [five] best fits for the Patriots in the 2026 NFL Draft: Using ‘The Beast’ to find targets."

EDGE R Mason Thomas, Oklahoma
TE Eli Stowers, Vanderbilt
OT Travis Burke, Memphis
DT Nick Barrett, South Carolina
LB Aiden Fisher, Indiana

Zero overlap.

I assume @manxman2601 will be happy with Kiper's final draft (well, the first pick at least).

31. Akheem Mesidor, DE, Miami (Florida)

Mesidor is supremely talented, with 12.5 sacks, 58 pressures and 11 run stops in 2025. But he's also 25 years old and has some injury history over his long six-year college career. If the Patriots are comfortable with the durability risk, they could absolutely use his production. Their 35 sacks tied for seventh fewest last season, and swapping in Dre'Mont Jones for K'Lavon Chaisson was the team's main change on the edge this offseason. Mesidor could quickly become a feared disruptor in the AFC East.

63. Chris Brazzell II, WR, Tennessee

It's still possible that the Patriots trade for A.J. Brown, which would obviously take the wide receiver room to another level. Even so, Brazzell ran a 4.37 at 6-4 and 198 pounds, and he finished last season with 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 16.4 yards per catch. New England should be eager to add pass catchers with physical traits and production like that, as third-year quarterback Drake Maye needs more playmakers.

not a disaster?

From 98.5, this is close to a FAIL, especially since they're trying to make Felger and Mazz happy.

2.57 EDGE Derrick Moore, Michigan

Why a fail? There are only two picks I'm not that keen on (Trigg & Baynes).

Karen Guregian:

1.31 OT Max Iheanachor, Arizona State
2.63 EDGE Gabe Jacas, Illinois
3.95 S Zakee Wheatley, Penn State
4.125 WR De’Zhaun Stribling, Ole Miss
4.131 TE Jack Endries, Texas
5.171 LB Jack Kelly, BYU
6.191 DT Kaleb Proctor, Southern Louisiana
6.198 EDGE Nadame Tucker, Western Michigan
6.202 RB Le’Veon Moss, Texas A & M
6.212 QB Sawyer Robertson, Baylor
7.247 OL Logan Taylor, Boston College

Injury risk. Big man with recurring foot problems.

Also not the biggest need.

If an edge is taken at 31, I see the upside and bpa angle at 63. But too much risk for 31.

Reasonable concerns, but like Gronk the upside is huge. And there is absolutely no way he will be there at 63, in all likelihood he won't be there at 31.

Good names, unrealistic values on some.

Love the first 2 picks, as well as Proctor. Don't know enough about the rest to offer an opinion.
