Player Signing Patriots sign CB Kindle Vildor

And youre myopic Homer lauding every signing like its game changing.

You always have been coming off as all knowing, but in reality if BS was money youd be worth billions.
And you're a **** kicker welsher that gets all their news and information from Facebook.

Glass houses, my dude.

So, back to Mr Vildor.
Pats are in real danger of missing the 2026 post season.

Without question the schedule is more difficult - AFCW, NFCN plus 3 - 2025 post season participants. 50% of the 2026 schedule will be vs opponents who have a legit shot at playing in LA February 2027.

Pats select 31st and this draft needs to be dead on the money because 2026 FA has been MEH. Night and day off seasons compared to last year when the Pats opened up the checkbook and spent. Comical that there is a thread blaming Belichick for being a penny pincher.

Unless Kurh is asked to coach the offense I don't see a regression. I have 100% faith in Vrabel running the show..

The WR group is less than 2025. The asking price for AJB must be steep and Philly knows that theyre in the drivers seat.

The L side of the OL is still questionable after signing the Jets LG with availability issues due to injuries.

I'm waiting for the triggered posters to arrive to respond to this, but it's not out of the ordinary when the Pats missed the playoffs in 2002. Nobody thought the defense was going to fall off a cliff and their schedule what turned out to be extremely difficult. What they did last year, does not mean they'll be able to duplicate it next year.

Yup. Putting your eggs in one basket with AVT is extremely risky. Also, not signing a veteran C to compete with Wilson (who's already suffered multiple concussions) isn't a good strategy as well. I expect them to sign someone eventually and/or draft someone.

Philly isn't getting a 1.. and I feel they know this... AJ brown is still a great player but is a distressed asset meaning it's widely known the eagles have to move him.. that lessen the value. The patiots have positioned themselves well with signing Doubs.. if.. just if AVT remains healthy the left side is solidified..

Friendly Reminder: Today is March 23, 2026. The 1st game of the season is September 9, 2026.

The draft (11 picks) hasn't even happened yet, free agency and UDFA is far from over.

They're in really good shape roster wise now.

You don't even know what the final roster looks like yet.... relax.

So, back to Mr Vildor.
Assuming health Gonzalez, Davis, Jones and Vildor is better than last year's corners.

Kevin Byard provides a leader back there, so zone coverages should improve automatically.

It's a good signing, it improves depth and overall talent in the CB room. Strength added to a strength.

WR is worst than 2025.

OL is questionable.

Maye will have his hands full because pressure is his kryptonite. He melts down under duress.

NE was extremely lucky last season and that won't occur twice in succession.

This 2026 FA is putrid.

Add AJ Brown and it's substantially better. Add a couple rookie WR's instead and it's potentially much better.

The loss of Diggs isn't that great, he had devolved into a merely solid possession WR at his age.

Again... you have no clue what they may do and the room is not changed that much. Kyle Williams has Diggs type talent, trained under him for a season and hopefully steps up. He could potentially give you more in 2026 than Diggs could.

The draft isn't until April.
OL is questionable.
Based on what?

They brought back all the same starters but got younger the interior by moving Wilson inside and getting Vera-Tucker. Obviously they'll continue to add here in the draft, but the three rookies Campbell, Wilson and Bryant will be much stronger in year two.

Every QB in history is susceptible to pressure.

Maye was a victim of his own naiveté in some regards. He was young, he needs to learn how to handle pressure, rolls blockers toward pressure pre-snap and know where his outlets are. He is young and learning, his blocking should be much improved. I don't see how this is worse?

Luck in Pro Football = health...

Otherwise luck played no part in anything. They posted the best record in the entire NFL and made it to the Super Bowl in year one of Vrabel. They need to keep improving.... that's not hard to do.
This 2026 FA is putrid.
Kevin Byard was a brilliant signing. While I would have preferred to go younger I think his mentorship will turn Craig Woodson into an All Pro and leader of the backfield that they need. They needed a brain back there badly.

Alijah Vera-Tucker is a risk reward play, he's young, if he stays healthy they magically get a Pro Bowl guard for a lot less money. They have to provide some insurance and depth in the draft here but they already have a good developmental prospect who has been in the NFL a little while in Sebastian Gutierrez who has very good athleticism and tools to work with.

Romeo Doubs has good size and athleticism. He's a faster version of Jacob Myers. With the current cost of WR's, I'm glad they got him for a reasonable sum, passed on more expensive options and will find some potential stars in the draft.

They needed a starting FB, they stole a very good one from a division rival in Reggie Gilliam. That's only a win.

Other than that they filled in the back end of the roster very well, improved special teams and provided good depth with Julian Hill, Kindle Vildor and the other guys.

They have 11 draft picks. They have a ton of available cap space and money for UDFA's and remaining free agents to top off the roster.

This team is in great shape.

WR is worst than 2025.
Diggs really didn't have that much of an impact when you look back at his game logs. The majority of his yards were in 4 games (Jets 2x, Panthers, at Ravens and at Bills). He had too many no shows including he playoffs. With that said, Doubs is downgrade on paper. However, he's shown he has potential and maybe there's something McDaniels can unlock with him. If Williams takes a 2nd year leap, that would certainly help as they need more explosive plays out of him.
OL is questionable.
OL scares the **** out of me.
Maye will have his hands full because pressure is his kryptonite. He melts down under duress.
This I don't fault to him because the OL is that bad. But one thing he needs to work on when he's facing pressures is when to know when to concede taking the sack.
NE was extremely lucky last season and that won't occur twice in succession.
Nothing is guaranteed.
This 2026 FA is putrid.
Some things were out of NE's control. The class wasn't that great, but Pierce decided to re-sign with Indy and nobody saw Linderbaum exploding the C market. I didn't care for any of the pass rushers.

Drake Maye didn’t realize until 2/3rds of the regular season was over, and I assume someone told him, that if he runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage while being chased his offensive line gets credited with a sack.

Seriously, he didn’t start throwing the ball away until the season was more than halfway over. It’s a lot more than one thing the kid has to learn about pressure, and it was hardly all his line’s fault.

We can’t rightly say Tom Brady made lesser lines look better than they were for the last 2 decades, and now say Drake was a victim.

He’s young and needs to improve. Josh McDaniels is a good coach, but not some innovative play caller. His play calling is outright bland as vanilla. It’s going to be up to Drake to become the brains and coach on the field. He’s not there yet…

I think they are hoping Ben Brown can fill in like he did in 2024 if need be. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see them draft a C late.

Love how half the thread is serious opinions and the other half is just all jokes about his name.
Imo the jokes are more serious than the opinions.
Which if you really think about it, is almost always true

I see your points..however we had a bottom ranked roster with the 32 ranked OL and 31st ranked offense.. anything was better than last.

They were always going to make intentional, smart and calculated signings.. FA period for the entire NFL wasn't anything to write about not just the patiots.. reinforcing the line of scrimmage is what the team is trying to do..
