Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Sam tries to pretend that he just has a different opinion, but that's not the issue, the reason people got sick of his ******** is because EVERY post was negative. He's claiming victimhood because people are sick of his ****, and he's saying we are intolerant of different opinions, when the truth is that this is probably the most active football message board there is, and what drives that is differing opinions. Sam is the message board Gilbert Gottfried and doesn't understand why people tired of his act. And instead of taking responsibility for his endless gloom and doom he pretends that it's really everyone else that is the problem, when in truth it is him.
I can see a negative post every now and then. We all have opinions and sometimes it doesn’t align with what the team is doing, He can just never be positive. That makes the rest of us jump on him because it just seems like trolling.
We made the SB last year and he seems to think everything the team does is insufficient. Personally, I know every move whether it is obtaining or releasing players to game day management has t been perfect but it certainly has been very good. But every man can do what ever they want,

It's not a 2nd account it is the same one. Grogan14 is Sam under a new name, perhaps in a sardonic homage to Andy after not honoring the bet he lost. Dec54 isn't Andy, he's not argumentative enough and doesn't make enough spelling and grammatical errors. He may however be Diffs4...
I disagree. Andy doesn't understand sarcasm.
I don't understand why I am getting caught in this cross fire. I guess Maust did not like me calling out somebody who was implying it was ridiculous to say Grogan 14 was Sam. Guess what he was right and so was I. If spewing facts makes me Andy have at it. God forbid somebody calls out a post that was completely wrong and was condescending on top of that. Can't have that here.

Whoa, crossfire? I simply included you in joking about identities because you answered for Dec54 in the exchange. Sorry you took offense where none was intended. I was not disagreeing with you or throwing shade. As you can see from my other posts I said Grogan14 is Sam as well.

Jules posted this... and then Gonzo retweeted it... something is up
I expect that PHI is going forward expecting that Brown is gone and they will get a high draft pick from us.

As far as we are concerned, someone could step in with an offer that PHI "can't" refuse, but that really would be poor business practice for PHI. If such a deal was much better, PHI might get us to throw in an extra 4th or 5th.

I don’t want to give up picks in a potentially much stronger draft.
While I appreciate the logic, predictions on draft quality a year ahead of time are not always accurate. Assuming that the Pats don't have to pay a premium for trading future picks, the Pats are better off trading next years picks. Adding Brown and having draft picks added to this team a year sooner has a lot of value for a team trying to restock the roster. The team should be better able to miss out on a pick, or two next year with a roster that has fewer holes.

I'm not a DR, but I was premed for 2 months before switching to finance. My interpretation of all available online evidence is that Brown is about to have a steeper decline than Bo Jackson's football production after his hip replacement.

I'd rather the Patriots round out their roster by pursuing multiple lesser transactions, including trades, while spending similar cash and draft expenditures.

Appreciate the medical opinion, but would be interesting to see a similar comparison with Moss' last season with the Raiders when everyone said his legs were gone.
Don't underestimate motivation.
Moss had none with the Raiders, it appears Brown has certainly lost a lot of his with the Eagles.

I am on team Bedard in this discussion.

Here is another consideration.

What are the two biggest days in the NFL season?

I say the two biggest are the SB, and the draft.

I do not want to dump big assets in an aging, declining player in AJ Brown, and get to sit in our hands during a potentially generational draft as cornerstone players get drafted while we watch.

Best case scenario is we get to the SB and win, while Brown is a year older and no healthier.

Worst case is we have a down year and watch the Eagles use a high to middle round pick on a player who could be a cornerstone player, get drafted instead of us.

I don’t want to trade a 1st rounder for Brown period, but definitely do not want to trade 2027 picks.

Interesting story. It IMPLIES that Howie isn't getting what he expected from an AJB deal, but doesn't say exactly what the compensation is going to be. Hope he is prophetic and the compensation is less than a 1.
I REALLY would not be happy if the Pats trade their 2027 #1.

This year we are picking 31st in a weak draft.

We will likely be picking higher in a much stronger draft.

You guys are way off. Look at the quote again, '...age catches up with us quickly and it's here for all to see.'
That's obviously directed at my ancient ass. Now that we have that sorted does either of you know why I'm in the kitchen?
You got up to get @TommyD4207 a beer for @Clonamery or @Nikolai to hold for you.

Oops Awshit I know better than to cross the threads, lol.

Sorry. Just hand me a beer so I can be drunk as well as acting my age.

To be fair Sam was getting downright positive and almost euphoric (ok that’s an exaggeration, but compared to his history…) during the playoff run.

I think part of the problem is that too many won’t let go of the past even when the present is getting better.

Give him a chance people. We’re all rooting for the same team, each in our own ways.

There are other pessimists on here besides Sam. I’m not going to name names but I’m sure others have noticed some usernames are dependably hypercritical and seldom positive in their posts.

So let’s stop picking on each other so much.

I don’t want to give up picks in a potentially much stronger draft.
And I certainly don’t want it to be a first rounder. No way in hell.

I’m thinking a second and third and we get some compensation back from Philly.
Or a second, fourth and a fourth in 2028.
And I’m maxing out here.
