Well I’ll be damned. They should be in on Pierce. Seems like he’s the medicine that the offense needs, good piece for Maye. Restructure and keep Diggs. No need to part with draft picks.

Like I just said in my last post, we have money to spend because the draft classes of guys who would be on their second deals with us now mostly sucked so we don't have any of those deals on the books now. If they want to be good they have to make up for that talent via outside FAs. Hendrickson is a great option to spend that money on IMO.

Hendrickson would be a good short term option. He fills the gap now and will be mostly off the books, or at least easily released, by the time a drafted player is ready to take his spot in a couple of years.

Chaisson - Williams - Barmore - Hendrickson, with Landry getting spot snaps and hopefully staying fresh while also keeping Hendrickson fresh in return, feels like a pretty solid starting DL.

However, it also helps them in negotiations as he’s reported to like DJ and know knows who the QB will be next year.

Pierce costs 0 draft capital, only $.
Both Crosby and Hendrickson cost both $ and heavy draft capital.

For once, I'm honestly not sure what the CBA is trying to say in the bolded section.

After that date, the player may sign only a one-year Player Contract with his Prior Club for that season, and such Player Contract may not be extended until after the Club’s last regular season game of that League Year.

Section 3. Transition Player Designations:
(a) In each League Year during the term of this Agreement, each Club shall be permitted to designate one player who would otherwise be an Unrestricted Free Agent or Restricted Free Agent as a Transition Player in lieu of designating a Franchise Player, if such Franchise Player designation is available to such Club, in addition to the Transition Player designation permitted by the immediately preceding sentence, during the same designation period as the Franchise Player designation period.

The transition tag for qb is around $38 mill. I would think itll be tough for indy to sign pierce before they reach an actual deal with jones and lower that cap hit considerably

We need a Volume Catcher which Pierce is not. He's a nice WR I think Kyle Williams could replicate what Pierce does.
