Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
who said that they are?

A mediot suggested that possible trades that make sense to him. They get paid for that. We have a poster here who does that for free.

Why in the world are the JAGUARS MOVING ON FROM HIM?
Good guess?... Myers, Washington and hunter seem to be the key guys there... but if he's beingsde available then we should inquire.

Correct. I was watching NFL network on this and it's a matter of the new coach's offense and Meyers now being featured. So Jax is supposedly listening.. a 2nd and a 4th should be Vrabel's offering...

I would give them 31 for him I would drive the pick to Jacksonville.
Pick # 31.. Just in my humble opinion isn't going to be a franchise player.. we already have that in Drake... So I will overnight the draft pick to Shad khan personally and add in some Kraft family bologna sandwiches too.

With Pierce looking like he’s headed to free agency that hurts Phillys chances of getting a high pick for Brown, teams will now pivot.

At present, it appears that they are going to Transition Tag Daniel Jones. If they do, they can't use the Franchise Tag on Pierce. I do agree with what you said though. It's more than likely that they have the framework for a deal in-place with Pierce. However, If Pierce actually does hit the market, I would prefer him over Brown.
He'll just cost money and no picks or players and he's younger so yeah agree. Brown has been a better player though.
If he gets to market, I think he may get paid too much for the Pats liking but move on from Diggs and maybe it works?

I don't think that we sign a top WR without moving on from Diggs.

Pierce would likely be a solid upgrade.

If they are, it’s because he didn’t contribute much this past season. Lots of drops, and other issues. Honestly, I’m not sure what happened to him.
Yeah, all his metrics went in the toilet, the question is why?
He had a very good friend commit suicide and the grief may have affected him last year. He also had a new offense. His rookie year was great. Hard to believe it was a fluke but also hard to nail down why he was not so good last year.

There seem to be good tackles available this year at 31. The kind we're not going to find. I believe Morgan Moses shares something in common with Methuselah so it may be wise for us to take a tackle there.

Very Sensible... from what I've seen around the team edge is what Vrabel's priority is this draft.. I do believe they will take a OT in the later rounds though.

FA or Tag??

There wont be any left.

There are a lot of them and all of them will be gone by early 2nd round. The only 2 remaining after that are purely for longterm development and they will go by the beginning of the 3rd round (World and Crownover).

Here are the earlier guys. They won't be there at the 63rd pick:

Maigoa
Fano
Freeling
Proctor
Lomu
Miller
Iheanachor

None of these guys will be there when we pick in the 2nd round.

I mean there has been a wild fire around Brown to Pats, well past the smoke stage. So I’d be kind of shocked at this point if Brown wasn’t wearing Bledsoes old jersey by next week.
I think there's a high probability this move happens the only real question is the compensation. There's probably some haggling going on behind the scenes. I'm also not sure if the Patriots will renegotiate Brown's contract after completing the trade to make it more team friendly or if we just take it as is.

Thanks for sharing this!! Well unless we trade for someone or pick up a veteran cut casualty.. it's gonna be the mid to late rounds.. I just believe they are prioritizing edge so that is likely who they are going for in the first two rounds.. again here I'm not Mel kipper...but you know your stuff and I take your word for it!

Well go ahead and be shocked then because its not happening. If Brown is to be a Pat, it will come after June 1 when his $43 mil dead cap can be split into two. Philly already has $40 million in dead cap. They have done no restructures yet this season. If they trade Brown prior to June 1, they will exceed $100 million in dead cap space once they get their 2026 team set. That is 1/3 of the total salary cap. Its not happening. Dream all you want.

I understand the Eagles wanting a draft pick now, but I think they would prefer our next year’s #1. It’ll probably be higher than 31.

Alec pierce + Hendrickson + cade otton and no draft assets expended...

That's what you want.

Now draft your RT of future + edge player + TE with first 3 picks .

Diggs will prolly need to be cut .
