Williams year 2 jump.. if this happens this is HUGE for the wr group all together.Pats should put digg in the slot. Boutte can play the 2 spot. And have it be this year that the never ending search for a true X WR ends.

@PatjewDouglas would likely be the odd man out.. Chism seems to fit more in the offensive structure..
Since no trade will be made until June 1st, I would note that the high draft capital folks are discussing will turn out to be a 2027 pick or picks. It seems pretty clear that NOTHING finite is going to happen with the AJ Brown trade market until AFTER June, 1. So does this mean I will be saddled with ANOTHER 3 full month of rampant speculation and posts that seem to say the same 4 or 5 things OVER and OVER again, tilike a bad dream that just won't go away.
Face it AJ would be a wonder LUXURY to have, but he would come a HIGH cost in both cap space and draft capital when we have clear serious needs in other areas. Think of the Pats like the Commanders, who came out of no where to make a HUG year to year leap forward. The only difference was a few plays in the AFCCG. Now think about the Commanders THIS season. Look at their precipitous fall from grace. They faced the same issues the Pats will face in 2026. Tougher schedule, more injuries to key players than in '24. the normal coaching and roster changes that happen year to year.
14-3 is NOT a likely outcome for the 2026 season even though the team is likely to be better "on paper". Lots of 2nd year players making a 2nd year leap. Plus new FA's who we HOPE will be marginal upgrades over their past replacements. But team building is kind of a mystical process and when you are looking at 25-30% of the roster being changed and how EVERY year is different. Hopefully being in the same system that proved successful is a positive thing, but the same team building process will have to work itself out over August, September and into October before a team develops its own UNIQUE identity. And just as hopefully we will like what this identity is as much as we liked that 2025 team.
Well if chowderandchampions says it…@Patjew
DeMario Douglas' Time with Patriots Is Slowly Running Out
Veteran WR DeMario Douglas is slowly running out of time to prove his worth to the New England Patriots as the NFL offseason is slowly heating up.chowderandchampions.com
In a scenario where Brown and Diggs are rostered together, I do wonder who gets dropped. They’d seemingly have too many guys at WR:
Brown
Diggs
Boutte
Hollins
Williams
Chism
Douglas
Alec Pierce is most likely getting tagged, unless Daniel Jones plays real hardball with his contract, so we can take him off the list.Pats should put digg in the slot. Boutte can play the 2 spot. And have it be this year that the never ending search for a true X WR ends.

Brown looks llike he's wading in cement to me, winning with vet guile and route-running. Not an explosive game breaker. Pierce isn't worth HUGE $ IMHO.Alec Pierce is most likely getting tagged, unless Daniel Jones plays real hardball with his contract, so we can take him off the list.
Even if Pierce doesn't get tagged, he will command an AJ Brown type contract, not that he is worth it by any means, but he would be the clear best WR on FA market.
AJ Brown was the guy who was reading a book during an Eagles game this year. Yes it was a book about self improvement, but very odd thing to do during a game. Perhaps indicates he wanted to separate himself from his team mates BUT
He has had 4 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons in a row. That is consistency.....
I am pretty sure Vrabel knows this guy very well and he will know what is a fair price for his services.
I think a 2nd rounder in 26 (at the end of the 2nd round) will be something the eagles will ultimately accept.
AJ knows the eagles are willing to move on from him and I suspect its a risk for Eagles to keep him in terms of team cohesion.
Anything more than this years 2nd rounder I would not do.

That's how I've observed his play as well. He's a slow lumbering route runner. I'm not a fan of his style of play.Brown looks llike he's wading in cement to me, winning with vet guile and route-running. Not an explosive game breaker. I'd say no.
If it's true what's being reported that supposed Pittsburgh and Jax are in talks about BTJ.. then we need to be involved as well.. I'm sure BTJ and his agent would rather him going to a team with and elite QB than the mess at QB in Pittsburgh right now.We need to upgrade at WR, but I’m not giving up much for Brown. He’s got maybe a few years left in his prime and I’ve read he has a degenerative knee issue. I’d rather get Brian Thomas Jr who had 1200 yds and 10 TDs as a rookie. See with the Jags if he’s available after his disappointing year 2. This also looks like a good draft for WRs. I wouldn’t mind a double dip.
