Hearing Vrabs unfiltered assessment of the post season is that the team needs to “lift”.
That is lift weights at the gym and get stronger. He must have seen how our offense got bullied. Interesting to see how this offseason will go.

What he was actually talking about was how these players are just kids and that it took him 4 years, until he was 24-25 years old before he was fully developed as a player. Campbell, Wilson , Maye etc... are still kids playing a man's game, and it takes time to develop physically, mentally, and as a player to fully realize your potential. Far too many fans watch 6 games and say " that's it, this guy sucks, he's a bust, get him out of here." Vrabel is committed to developing these kids to their fullest potential, and sees that as the most critical component of building their team. What he didn't say is that those fans who start screaming " bust" 20 minutes into their careers are ****ing idiots.

If he was going into his 3rd season I would look more at the possible upside, but given that he's going into his 5th season with his production going down I really question whether he's a guy who could be a highly productive starter. And I agree that he will want more than it's worth.

Pitts has almost no chance of getting to free agency but Otten might. If he does likely 10 million plus for Otten.

If they were to go after a TE in free agency I would want one who is a red zone threat, Otten isn't. He had 1 TD on 59 receptions this season. Vrabel was a better red zone threat than Otten or Likely.

We can't get much younger or cheaper than we were this year - one of the youngest teams (in terms of playing time on the field)
And a lot of contribution from rookie-deal players, or reclamation projects on prove-it deals.

So, next step is to get better - both in development from those young players, and selective FAs that are sure bets in exact spots:
Offense:
1. Figure out LG/C succession plan (Brown & Wilson are current pieces + maybe Wallace) OR sign FA C or LG
2. Plan for succession at RT (Bryant/Munford) or draft mid-round
3. RB3, WR1a, TE2 - must be added via draft and/or FA
Development of Larison & K. Williams could play into this.
Priority sign - Likely or Otton for TE future.
Sign - Pierce if affordable, or Doubs. Compete with Hollins & Boutte for starting X.
