I like the player a lot, but not at the amount of money he's making. Also draft capital would be necessary to get him.Again another we should be interested in.

Agreed, if one really wants a look at free agents the Pats could potentially steal, look to teams in salary cap straits.Happens every year at every positions. Fans look at all the best players with contracts expiring and clamor that theycanshould be ours if only we are willing to pay. Totally forgetting that their present team might be willing to pay based on knowing them better than we do. And never asking why, if that team is unwilling to pay because they know them better than we do.
Giving big money to a backup QB hoping he will be a starter? Blowing massive draft capital on a position that has almost never been drafted that highly in history? Surely the Jets would never do such things.I hope to god the Jets plan is to sign a career backup at QB and draft a RB #2 overall!
Dallas is still paying those players, but they’re just kicking the can further down the road.The cowboys went from "cap hell" to all in.
After franchising Pickins, they will restructure 3 players and adjust 3 others freeing up $60M and will go after a major player or two.

And no, it’s not the model I would want the Patriots to follow.
Agreed.. Regarding our organization.. it's utterly impressive that Vrabel was able to take a 4-13 roster with let's say 8,9 years of high round draft bust.. N'Keal Harry, Cyrus Jones, Duke Dawson, jouan Williams, Tyquan Thornton and others.. all going back 9 seasons. To come in and in one offseason take this team to the superbowl. I personally feel this is just the beginning for this team and to your point what 96 was the last time America's team sniffed a conference championship?It's hard to believe the most valued franchise in the NFL (Cowboys) hasn't reached an NFCCG in over 30 years.
They were negative 63 million in cap space. Even with these restructures pushing it out a few years they have no cap space. The additional 3 guys should see them enough to sign the rest of the roster and maybe sign 1 solid free agent. It's not a great class in free agency and they will now overpay for, at best, good talent.The cowboys went from "cap hell" to all in.

The #Patriots are reportedly planning to sign an EDGE rusher in free agency and also select one in the Draft according to
@ChadGraff
There are several options. It's a good year to do it.
Chassion reports are is looking to get paid.. If we loosing him.. and with Landry hurt and who knows his future.. now we are talking about needing two starters.. Thibiduaux is a starter on this team IMO.. then you go after a Mafe or oweh.. and draft at least 2 edge rushers.I like the player a lot, but not at the amount of money he's making. I think Reiss is in the range you previously mentioned of $8-$11 per year. Sounds reasonable. But, I'd wait things out first to see if they can land a better pass rush like Hendrickson, Crosby (unlikely) or someone else before quickly pivoting to Chaisson.Patriots will have to pay up if they want to keep K’Lavon Chaisson
A year ago, the Patriots signed free agent pass rusher K’Lavon Chaisson to a one-year, $3 million contract.www.nbcsports.com
2014 was their last real chance when Dez Bryant was had the incomplete catch. Not a guarantee they win the game had they scored. They were built to beat Seattle which they beat them in Seattle in the regular season.Agreed.. Was that the year against greenbay that Dez got screwed on the TD in the playoffs?? Yes, When I said Chaisson would be in that ball park I was laughed at.. I knew that would be his range... the Complexity here Is Landry and his knee is a problem.. he's an unknown sure he said he wants to get right but he's had 2,3 serious injuries the past few seasons and he's soon to be 30.. age and injuries are a career ender. If we don't resign KC now we have to get two starters after edge...I think Reiss is in the range you previously mentioned of $8-$11 per year. Sounds reasonable. If they can re-sign Chaisson at a reasonable price I’d love to see them keep him here, AND add some pass rush help. I’m not convinced either Hendrickson or especially Crosby would be a good deal because of their price tag, but we need two good edge rushers and Landry is a question mark at best.I think Reiss is in the range you previously mentioned of $8-$11 per year.
