2026 NFL Combine

CJ Allen not doing drills. Also a disappointment.

Just a 'mark your card' for tomorrow. Eliot Wolf talked about explosiveness and first step quickness among the things the Pats are looking for from an edge rusher. I'd pay a lot of attention to the 10yd split and the jumps for these guys.

Bruce Feldman has an article about who's going to stand out at the combine, listing 40 players. Some early standouts for me. The article is free:

1. Jaren Kanak could VJ 40"

2. Justin Jefferson could run in the 4.3s

3. Malachi Fields has run a 6.81 3-cone. If he matches that, he could vault into the first round.

4. BYU LB Jack Kelly "should be around 4.00 in the short shuttle. No linebacker has clocked under 4.23 in five years in Indianapolis." That would be extraordinary. That's slot WR fast.

Pinch of salt required, but those are the type of testings to change draft stocks.

So many amazing athletes. So deep.

Jack Kelly my backup option for Jake Golday.

Justin Jefferson my backup option for Kyle Louis.

Jefferson Caldwell my backup option for Ted Hurst.

Josh Cameron my backup option for Chris Bell.

Taking a spot when some players get left out. NCAA should ask them if they are going to skip drills, if yes, invite someone else. They can still attend for the interviews.

That's a good solution. And unless there's a medical issue that prevents them from it they should be required to do all the drills etc..., not just pick and choosecwhatbtheyceantbto do. There are plenty of kids who get denied this opportunity, and the ones that don't want to partake should just stay home and let those willing to participate take those open spots.

At what stage do you worry about McCoy's draft stock? It's been over a year since his injury. He's investing a lot in his pro day.

I don't see TN scheduled yet but it will obviously be within the next 3-6 weeks. Not sure what he gains but how others have performed and a friendly confine.

How do people want me to play measurements and combine testing? Put all the info here, in the position specific threads or separate new threads for both?

Put testing data here.

Particularly noteworthy stuff can go in position threads.

Example:

"Akheem Mesidor ran a 4.19 40 with a 1.46 10-split. He had a 41" VJ, 11'9" BJ, 6.86 3C and 3.99 SS. But he only put up 22 reps on the bench press, and is expected to slip to the end of the 1st round."

Myles Garrett 2.0

So people who won't do testing so far I believe:

Sonny Styles (maybe just 40)
CJ Allen
Mansoor Delane
Jermod McCoy.
