2026 Draft: RT

My comp for Iheanachor's ceiling is Armand Membou.

Membou had a much higher floor coming in, as Iheanachor only started playing American football 5 years ago.

In Yates' most recent mock draft, he slotted Utah offensive tackle/guard Caleb Lomu to New England at No. 31.

As is often the case, Yates envisions the possibility that some of the tackles in the class could be moved to guard in the NFL. He doesn't see Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling reaching the Patriots at 31 but notes him in the mix of first-round possibilities that includes Lomu, Arizona State right tackle Max Iheanachor, Alabama left tackle Kadyn Proctor and Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis. Yates anticipates Freeling and Iheanachor to continue to rise over the next two months.

Caleb Lomu looks good to me. Hope we can get him. This is just going on eye test and highlights.

Kadyn Proctor cannot redirect.
He also plays like he's 6'4" 315 instead of 6'8" 360 in pass pro. A lot of his length is negated due to flat out bad technique and his feet are almost always too close together, sometimes banging into each other.

The run blocking is absolutely elite, though. Like he will immediately be one of the top 5 run blockers in the NFL type of elite. Completely different player in the running game vs. pass pro.

He's a FB.

It's funny how the narrative on Campbell evolved over the course of the season:

1. Pre-season: "He looks like a player, we're just not sure if his arms are long enough to play tackle."

2. First 12 games of season: "He's really good, and keeps getting better. We lucked out! Thank goodness we didn't draft Hunter or Carter."

3. Games 13-16: "We need Campbell back if we are going to make a playoff run."

3. Game 17 and playoffs, with Campbell clearly unable to plant or generate any power, against some of the best defenses in the NFL: "We told you, Campbell is a liability at tackle. His technique is all wrong, his arms are too short. We need to move him to guard."
