The Bills were hoping they'd get a guy who could also rush the passer. He was supposed to be a Jamie Collins type but ended up simply being excellent covering TEs and RBs in space. His 27-year-old body has a lot of football on it. Haven't seen his recent games. I thought he was overrated with Buffalo although he was better than what we have had recently.
Also, Cole Kmet is reportedly either a cut or trade candidate for the Bears. I think the Pats should consider targeting him. He is a good blocker and clutch receiver. Doesn't have much of a role in the Bears' system under Ben Johnson since Colston Loveland was drafted 10th last year and producing, but could potentially be a solid weapon in McDaniels. He is only 26.
Probably the most overrated LB in the NFL. He stunk in Buffalo and they had no problem letting him walk. However, Buffalo is so desperate, they'll probably want him back.
He was criticized during his time there because he was ass in coverage. He was a stat collector, but somehow forgot how to how to play LB when the competition got better - especially during playoff games. Buffalo's defense had ****ty players throughout, yet they still wouldn't cave to sign him.He didn't stink in Buffalo, but he certainly wasn't worth the contract the Bears gave him.

Just like they had poyer and white.. back..Probably the most overrated LB in the NFL. He stunk in Buffalo and they had no problem letting him walk. However, Buffalo is so desperate, they'll probably want him back.
We can’t have top players and starter level backups at every position.kmet is not a huge offensive weapon or at least not the past 2 years….and I feel like that is what we really need right now and someone that can also block…..feel like we need a major upgrade at this position and I’m not sure Henry and Hooper are it
I think you have it reversed. He was excellent in coverage. He was criticized for other parts of his game. Coverage is maybe the only part of the game he excelled at.He was criticized during his time there because he was ass in coverage. If you're implying to the Pats to take a look - no thanks.
Kmet never really lived up to his draft profile. He has been decent.kmet is not a huge offensive weapon or at least not the past 2 years….and I feel like that is what we really need right now and someone that can also block…..feel like we need a major upgrade at this position and I’m not sure Henry and Hooper are it
I think Ellis is on a 2 year contract Vrabel matched when he was going to sign with LV.. ?He’s not a scheme fit in Vrabel’s system. They tend to use smallish Will inside LB’ers.
The Pats should extend Christian Ellis, he played great and earned some money. They should also add some prospects via the draft and value vet free agents.
He is. Cap is a little high for what he is bit not egregiously soI think Ellis is on a 2 year contract Vrabel matched when he was going to sign with LV.. ?
He was tendered right? Was it a ERA? Not sure.. Ellis is one of those guys you need that does the dirty work and is physical.. adding some more talent at LB depth only will help his overall game.He is. Cap is a little high for what he is bit not egregiously so
I really think our LBs are vastly underrated.. sure we could definitely kick the tires on him for sure we need depth at LB so he would be a nice veteran depth rotational guy.. what we need is edge rusher that will help the entire defense as a whole. He was purely a cover LB and he was excellent at it too. The Bills were hoping they'd get a guy who could also rush the passer. He was supposed to be a Jamie Collins type but ended up simply being excellent covering TEs and RBs in space.
He signed a huge contract which is likely why the Bears are letting him go.
I am never against bringing on 27 year old LBs for a middle class contract. He'd be an upgrade for us.
