Certainly fits what any reasonable observer would say (which never means it can't be wrong, of course.) We all know all the stuff is connected to all the other stuff, but what I never see is a breakdown saying that we have a plague of drops. From there you ask, 'Well can our guys get open?" Raise your hand if you've noticed guys open not getting the look, or open but Drake thought the ball needed one more pat. From there, I'm asking how much time he got? how much time he need? And we're back to the trenches.
I got jazzed on Drake early because whatever was a problem one weak, he'd beat it the next, etc. His development was going in the right direction... then we hit the playoffs, as we all know. It wasn't a foregone conclusion he was at his ceiling, but it turned out he was. And when I put that on Drake, every single time that means Drake and the O-line. He needs more time than they can give him to make the right call. The good thing about that is that we have a young left side and a young quarterback, with Campbell not 100%. I like their chances to take next steps, and that's free. But we need to be younger and better across the line and that includes backup bodies, if possible. We're always worried about acquiring marquee receivers... I'm ready to get jazzed for a big receiver move but it would surprise me, and I'm not rooting for it. Drake needs to not be on his ass for the ball to get to the marquee receiver.
