Looks like a wide open receiver that he underthrew. He rarely does that. Appears he couldn’t follow through because of the mess in front of him.

I know it sounds crazy but I think if we have Lowe/Brown in there instead of Campbell/Wilson we have an actual shot at winning the Super Bowl.

Yup. Wilson was completely useless, he couldn’t help Campbell or Maye to save his life.
After watching all the snaps from the OL I’m pretty sure Ben Brown would’ve done better.

Once they got the lead to 12 (i.e. need 2 TDs) I more than half-seriously felt that Seattle could win the game without throwing another pass the rest of the way.

We really didnt try too many things offensively . Were scared to go no huddle because oline would get crushed. Didnt max protect and take deep shots because they were scared of -ve play. The D kept it close and vrabel figured maye would eventually snap out and get one drive but it was too little too late.

The Seahawks did a good job confusing the offense by signaling that they were playing man to man by covering motion pre snap only to drop into zone when the ball was snapped. They exploited Maye's inexperience and made him uncomfortable through physical domination of the OL and scheme. It is impossible to figure out something new when you are running for your life. Hopefully one of many lessons learned for Maye and the offense in general.

The Seahawks did a good job confusing the offense by signaling that they were playing man to man by covering motion pre snap only to drop into zone when the ball was snapped. They exploited Maye's inexperience and made him uncomfortable through physical domination of the OL and scheme. It is impossible to figure out something new when you are running for your life. Hopefully one of many lessons learned for Maye and the offense in general.

Watch he video, he wasn't running for his life until he created that environment. Lots of 2-3 steps drop ball out kind of things. He missed almost all of them. He had guys WIDE open for massive gains and never saw them. Diggs is clapping for the ball in one of them he was so open. Very rough look for him. It's much worse than I thought,

Yeah I am 180 out on the line being the main issue. The main issue was Maye. He takes most of the blame for the bad offense after seeing the tape. FFS that was some bad, bad tape.

I don't see how Vrabel and Co can not light into him for that. So it wasn't on McD for the most part either. We had it all wrong for almost 24 hours.

I was wondering just before half time if Maye forgot there was entire right 1/3rd of the field. I haven’t seen a target break down but there were many plays to be made on the right 1/2 and 1/3rd. Seemed like Maye was looking left to also get a peek at the pressure.

I'm asking this legitimately because I keep hearing it, but not seeing an explanation: what do people mean by this?

Receivers were schemed to have opportunities, Maye had a hard time seeing them - or muffed them. That INT in the 4th with 8:43 is a great example - Williams had passed his defender, he could've ran for the TD. Maybe I'm blind but I have NO IDEA what Maye was thinking there. We get the TD here and the defense would've been fired TF up to get the ball back. The run showed signs of life but when it's the only life you got, it's much easier for a defense to adjust and stomp that out if the QB doesn't have time to find players/isn't seeing them.

The OL played terribly, particularly in pass-pro.

If there's any criticism to be needed of McDaniels, it's that he did not coach his QB up enough to see those opportunities. But I'm struggling to see what else could've been done from a game- planning perspective.

Imo, It wasn't just last night with McD. He has been very conservative throughout the season but last night it was just highlighted because of the stage they were on. As I said earlier, I think he was hamstrung by the left side of the OL and Mayes shoulder.

We have all seen the McD interview where he says that he gives the QB more as he sees that the QB can handle it. Maye is a 23 year old kid in his first year with McD, he is still learning things, so I think he only knows a very small portion of the overall playbook. Josh also teaches field reads over more pure progression and Maye has not been taught that so that adds to his learning curve. I am of the opinion that QBs should learn field reads.

For whatever reason Maye has regressed in the playoffs. Maybe its his shoulder, better defenses, the increased pressure from the left side of the OL. I think it is a combo of all of the above and feel very confident that Maye will improve aspects of his game going forward as I think the OL will improve.

I said it already somewhere else and more than once but a lot of the sacks he takes are definitely not on the OL, he has 0 pocket awareness and has zero ball security.
The line is an issue and he certainly doesn’t feel comfortable but man you have to be a lot better than that.
Hopefully this is just the beginning and he will be much better next year but my god was he bad.

************ I had to turn that off after a few minutes. Seattle sent 6 so many times. So many easy completions for 8-15 yards. Maye was just gambling. Really hard to watch.

Yeah everyone here needs to watch that video I posted and then think about it for a while. Nobody might like the answer they get but it was the mental aspect of the game that Maye was lost on last night.

I saw this in real time. He had so many underneath guys open and he just did not see them.
