@PATSYLICIOUS

I will maintain that the Houston Texans at every level presented the most toughest challenges to us this postseason.. will Anderson was relentless and almost single handedly ruined the game for us the difference is we created TOs on defense and made a few winning plays om offense... is how we won... Denver same deal we made winning plays on offense and defense to secure a victory..

The thing about Houston’s d is while they are great talent wise everywhere, they don’t really do anything to confuse you like seattle does. Maye was completely off his game yesterday and in denver.

Might be just me but while maye struggled throughout the postseason, i saw a difference between the chargers/texans games and denver/seattle games. In the first 2, he had issues with fumbling but he made bigtime throws and moved us up and down the field. In the last 2 games, even when the weather was fair in Denver, he was completely ineffective. Didn’t make his reads and flat out missed open guys. It was either a schematic thing with denver/seattle’s defenses or he got injured before denver. Or both.

I don't think he played scared. They had no control of the LoS and a QB with a less than 100% arm. I do think he and the receivers had problems reading their coverages but i'm not 100% sure of that.

My issue is why they didn't run Drake more.
I like Josh but this is an issue he has. He plays scared in big games against good defenses.
He tries to “stay on schedule” and calls a sink and dunk offense. Run run pass punt is no better than having a sack kill the drive, the difference is if you scheme for explosive plays you can get some of them.

Instead of accepting that an offense that needs big plays must accept bad plays he calls an offense that gives up on having big plays out of fear of bad plays. That’s not what would with this roster.
Let’s run for 2 yards so they can get a sack is a scared plan

ESPN claims Maye had a shot before the game to numb it up. I guess he said it in his post game interview.

No excuses. Everyone was bad.

Yep, saw that about the shot. I had bought into all the talk that he’d have no limitations and the 2 week break was enough to heal up

Seattle has to blitz to create chaos Houston is like the **** Lebau steelers they line up and beat you with what they do and they are elite at every level..

We were getting beat with just 4 man fronts yesterday is why the DBs could just sit on everything and Drake had nowhere to throw...

The OL - especially the left side - is the weakest link on this team. Drake needs protection, not a stack of donuts

Never in a million years did I see a blow out, belt to ass, ass kicking coming in this game. McDaniels and Marrone were completely out matched and had no answers, no adjustments, very predictable. But, perhaps in his defense, the passing part of the game plan probably went out the window because Campbell played like a D3 left tackle. Maye was sped up big time all playoffs. It's very concerning, especially if they plan on bringing back T Rex at left tackle. Very disappointing to see Maye and everyone else on offense completely melt on the big stage.
Hopefully Campbell and Maye are not scarred into next year. Campbell not facing the music is a bush league move.

We've got players out of position the LG is really a center and the LT is really a guard.

A new LT and playing Campbell at LG and Wilson at C needs considering, i know Campbell was dinged but he just doesn't look capable of playing against the elite guys on the edge he doesn't even look like what every other LT in the league looks like.

Very true, getting beat with just 4 is a recipe for disaster. Even Tom couldn’t overcome that alot of times

I still think SB 42 has made McDaniels scared in big games against good defenses. there were so many idiotic kill shot and go for the jugular calls by him in that game. NYG had no answer for Welker and Faulk and the Pats would have won if they had just stuck to that like they did against JAX in the divisional round and SD in the conference championship

it seems like ever since then, the Pats offense comes out scared in big games

Where are we getting this LT that looks elite opposite of elite pass rushers?

Vrabel needs to get Maye an O line that can hold up better. That is the team's biggest weakness. Maye definitely got confused by good defenses in the post season. He needs to spend some time in the film room for sure, learning to diagnose what confused him. He def held onto the ball way too long. He needs to up his quick passing game to negate strong pass rushes.

All in all the Pats over achieved this year. Next year they will have a harder schedule, and will be more battle tested through the season. I think if the Pats get the Oline fixed and not much else, they will have fixed 70% of the problem. And Maye and JMD work on their quick game in the off-season.

They need that Welker, Edelman guy in the slot. And a burner on the outside. Diggs played great this year, but he's on the wrong side of 30.

Anyway, sucked watching that game. I hope Maye can put it in perspective and learn from it and put the work in to come back when better next year

I would say this game was a knock on vrabels coaching. You need to know when to pull the plug. Allowing Campbell and maye to get obliterated without any backup plan is not looking good.

This season will tell us if this was a masterstroke on building confidence for Maye and Campbell to become great this season and fixing their flaws.

We should just roll the dice with key players and some minor minor changes. Rome was not built in a day .

Or Coaches who know the game...I didn't expect such an abysmal performance from our Offense. They better put some Real Skill position Players around Maye in 2026 because he's no Tom Brady. Maye can't do it with JAGS he ain't built like that.

I think that was Vrabel's plan all along and we just got way ahead of schedule. People calling to give up on Campbell without seeing what kind of jump he can make with a full year in the program is kind of nuts.

Tom Brady had better WR's and TE's than Maye. Let's kill the thought that Maye can win with a bunch of JAGS...not going to Ever happen.

14 pressures is kind of nuts too. If the coaches don't evaluate Campbell moving to guard, that would be kind of nuts also.

Not holding my breath hate to see O-Linemen on Skates especially the Fourth Selection Overall.

All the options can be on the table, but I'm not really positive where this better LT is coming from that everyone seems so sure we'll get once we move Campbell to guard.

W. Campbell played essentially one leg.. as on OL his technique and fundamentals were severely impacted by the injury and him not being the rock solid player he was leading up to the Cincinnati game.. Lowe should have been playing instead.

Would not be surprised if Maye's shoulder was worse than let on and he needs treatment.

Doesn't really explain the hesitation though. There were times where I thought I was watching Bledsoe do his statue thing. I think he was legit confused by that defense. Oh well. The whole playoffs was a good learning experience and he'll be better for it. Experience like they got this season can't be coached.
I'm wondering if the shoulder is why Maye's only runs were when a play broke down and things opened up -- that the team didn't call any designed runs because they didn't want to expose the shoulder to more hits.

And some of those passes just didn't look right.

Not trying to make excuses though -- even if Maye was 100% they would have lost with that game "plan".
