Well Maye certainly has a lot to work on this offseason…..brutal.

I know it sounds crazy but I think if we have Lowe/Brown in there instead of Campbell/Wilson we have an actual shot at winning the Super Bowl.
Oh.. you don't sound crazy at all.. it's pretty obvious to us.. We saw How rock solid Campbell was prior to injury in Cincinnati... he just wasn't healthy no matter what he or the team says.. Lowe was playing well and should have replaced Campbell. I also believe Wilson coming off that Ankle wasn't 100% either..

Wilson shouldn’t have been starting at all this season IMO. He was always the weak link and I wholeheartedly felt Ben Brown was the steadier, more consistent option.

You make a compelling point I saw someone else mentioning this a few weeks back on the forum....

I still feel Campbell will be a LT. Sometimes this kind of performance fuels in a hunger and desire that cannot be forged .

Expect Campbell to be a angry dude next season. Let's not give up. As for Wilson he is a better center. Move him there .

They just over performed and we rose teb wave and Vrabel was too rigid to not make any changes and showing that he had his guys back. It worked for borregales , rham and Leonard Taylor not so much for Campbell and wilson. Repeated failures and absence of options killed it as they play a position that's so critical with not much leeway for off days.

In hindsight Vrabel should have played Lowe and brown but donno why that was not explored. It's a coaching and learning experience for Vrabel too.

I hate seeing Campbell get overpowered bullrushed backwards into his QB. I don't know if that's technique or a strength problem that he needs to start working on fixing right now on day 1 of the offseason.

He did exactly what an OC should do with a 2nd year QB facing a dominant defense with an average O-line blocking for him.

It was all runs and short passes the first three quarters Then Drake started playing hero ball because they had no other options.
They saw better defenses in Houston and Denver.. the difference was the offense made some plays to win.. yesterday they didn't.. Stafford carved up this same "vaunted " Seattle defense 2 weeks ago..

Our defense erased thier best player in JSN and held them to FGs essentially all game.. eventually Seattle was going to score with all the opportunities they kept getting...

It was a bad plan. The OL clearly was not going to hold up for drives of runs and short passes. The game plan needed to revolve around setting up down the field throws and getting chunk plays.
It’s ok to take a sack and punt when the alternative is 3 and out.
Throwing in 1st down improved protection and has a greater opportunity to push the ball down the field, which is what our offense has to have. We have t been successful with short pass and run sustained drives all year, we are a big play offense.
The game plan should have been to set up big plays and create a scoring drive per quarter.

I don't think so.

A veteran QB who had a good line, two top WRs and a healthy shoudler.

Of course.

im starting to buy into the theories that maye had a serious injury we weren’t aware of. They didn’t try to use his legs which would have been a potential solution to our issues but he looked very tentative to take off all night too when there were chances.

At the very least im suprised they didn’t opt for more rollouts/ moving pockets.

I don't think he had the arm health to sustain that plan.

He wasn't accurate last night. Good plan but not likely to succeed.

He didn’t really get a chance until they released the hounds.
The one they used certainly didn’t succeed.
Why not be what you are instead of playing scared?

Of course.
Houston is the best defensive football team in the NFL they present challenges at every level.. look what they did to the best QB in the league in Josh Allen.. seattle is good.. but..let's not forget they got carved up by the Rams and only won because Nucaua dropped a sure TD pass... we MADE Seattle look even better than they already are we were totally inept on offense as a whole.. we gave them points...

Yep, certainly looked to me Campbell and Wilson either weren’t healthy or deserved benching. Whichever one it was big miss by the coaches not recognizing that over 4 games. It eventually caught up to us

I don't think he played scared. They had no control of the LoS and a QB with a less than 100% arm. I do think he and the receivers had problems reading their coverages but i'm not 100% sure of that.

My issue is why they didn't run Drake more.

Vrabel needs to get Maye an O line that can hold up better. That is the team's biggest weakness. Maye definitely got confused by good defenses in the post season. He needs to spend some time in the film room for sure, learning to diagnose what confused him. He def held onto the ball way too long. He needs to up his quick passing game to negate strong pass rushes.

All in all the Pats over achieved this year. Next year they will have a harder schedule, and will be more battle tested through the season. I think if the Pats get the Oline fixed and not much else, they will have fixed 70% of the problem. And Maye and JMD work on their quick game in the off-season.

They need that Welker, Edelman guy in the slot. And a burner on the outside. Diggs played great this year, but he's on the wrong side of 30.

Anyway, sucked watching that game. I hope Maye can put it in perspective and learn from it and put the work in to come back when better next year

@PATSYLICIOUS

I will maintain that the Houston Texans at every level presented the most toughest challenges to us this postseason.. will Anderson was relentless and almost single handedly ruined the game for us the difference is we created TOs on defense and made a few winning plays om offense... is how we won... Denver same deal we made winning plays on offense and defense to secure a victory..

Yes... with 2 weeks to prepare I was confident Marrone would have it figured out... Campbell and Wilson weren't the same guys that played well during regular season prior to injury.. Lowe and B..brown should have been starting IMO

ESPN claims Maye had a shot before the game to numb it up. I guess he said it in his post game interview.

No excuses. Everyone was bad.

Yeah.. he seemed as if he was playing to protect the shoulder and took away from his Natural abilities.. from the first snap the offense didn't seem right.. all the zone Seattle played there were ample opportunities Drake just couldn't hit guys like he did all season long...
