Brady is the goat but FU

Brady not ever even calling or contacting Drake Maye to give him a shout out is a disgrace.
Maye is a humble likable very young QB who idolized both Brady and Newton and both of them have treated him like dog ****.

I know he is minority owner of the Raiders and wants Maye and the Patriots to fail so his Raiders will do well...
but come on, its just common decency to give Maye a call and congratulate him on his success.

I think Brady's behavior is a combination of his competitiveness and not wanting to give any support to Maye, but also I think he has great resentment under the surface for both Kraft and BB and the Pats organization.

Good to see you're living up to the level you established and not letting facts get in your way.

Brady has an ownership stake in another team. Per the league rules and even the CBA, Brady is NOT allowed to contact a player under contract with another team. Considering how Goodell came down on Brady for not turning over his physical phone when Goodell already had everything he needed, only someone smoking cheap stuff would believe that Goodell wouldn't strip Brady of his ownership if he reached out.

Brady is actually under a microscope in these sorts of situations because of the Anti-tampering rules. He's subject to fines, suspension and even loss of ownership if the league feels it's egregious enough..

What's a disgrace is that he's not part owner of the Patriots. That's a disgrace.

Willfork can call out Brady. Spillane though can bang his head against nearest wall if he does not like it. Otherwise, he just needs to shut up about anything Brady says.
Facts, who the hell is Spillane to talk **** about a guy who was here for 20 years.

I am guessing that Maye is not all that bothered. I believe he is a genuine person and cares much more about winning the SB for his team.

Testing the water's Sam?

...Day 37 of training with Peyton...

Does that mean that PEDton started "helping" Maye 37 days ago?

If so, how in the world did Maye make it to the playoffs?

Luckily PEDton didn't teach Maye his most common move. The one-and-done playoff.

Brady is impartial for the Super Bowl, but he had no problems publicly endorsing Stafford, and acting like Drake needs to know his place.

Go watch Edelman's video of reminiscing about Brady leaving for Tampa and Brady not even telling him. Edelman is on the verge of tears, you can see how much that must have hurt him after everything they went through. And, of course, Brady couldn't find the time to honor him when he went into the Patriots hall of fame.

Antonio Brown, as big of an idiot as he was, was right about Brady. As long you can contribute to his goals, he will do everything to please you, once you can't, you're disposable and yesterday's news.

If he was a professional, he would never have went to bat for Stafford. He would have had the same attitude he has for this game, ''no dog in this fight, both deserve it, the two best QB's, etc...'' That he publicly endorsed the QB that does not play for the Patriots and he's at best, indifferent about whether the team that drafted him, he played 20 years for, and put up a statue in his name 6 months ago, wins the Super Bowl or not, says everything about him.

He will always be my favorite athlete, but the less said about him as a person, the better.
Well stated and accurate.

The easy way out of the question of who will win SB60 is simple. Do not pick a team. Just state that both teams are the best in their respective conferences and that either team can win. Brady does not like the fact that the Pats are having this kind of success without him. Kraft just dedicated that statue of Brady this season and NE has already made it back to the big game. To make matters worse Maye can do things that Brady never could like being a threat as a rusher. Like being elusive and really fast. Mayes deep ball is better than Bradys IMO.

Just win Maye and that will shut everybody up including Brady.

Brady GOAT- take your 600k Rolex and shove it up you a**

Every time I look at your statue I will think of how you could not show any support to your teammate and friend Vrabel or the fans who have worshipped you for 26 years
The pin head statue is accurate afterall.

To be honest it looks like a prop from Star Wars.

TB12 is the greatest of all time...fact. Tom Brady the person is kind of a dorky tool that lacks a social IQ. Don't get too wrapped up in it.
I liked the young Brady better than the older Brady. And I think that has something to do with him getting into the lifestyles of the rich and famous crowd. Maybe Gisele had a part of that but we don't know. What we do know is that Brady gave us great QB play for 20 years. His reward from some of the fans for that is a big FU. No wonder some players don't want to come here.

After the joy Brady gave NE fans for 2 decades he could crap on the logo at Gillette and I could care less.
Him not publicly rooting against his teams next head coach? Why is this a thread?

A player on the 2025-2026 New England Patriots.

Tom Brady ceased playing for the New England Patriots after a 2019 playoff game against the Tennessee Titans.

I back the New England Patriots.

Brady's the GOAT, no doubt, and brought us 6 titles, but to coin a phrase, I have no dog in this fight. He called it: He's a broadcaster and a part-owner of the Raiders, not a Patriot, for purposes of this game. Treat him that way.

That said, as much as I wanted to react to the "who the hell is Spillane" comment, I don't actually care that a guy says what it's in his present interests to say. All he did is make it clear that if you have some romantic loyalty test in mind with a non-zero chance of reducing his present situation, he's steering clear.

As far as I'm concerned, we'd be suckers to get all defensive of him after he as much says "this is transactional, calm down," and we'd be equally stupid to get offended by him doing so.

Only thing I can think of is theres something contractually binding him (FOX or the Raiduhs) to not publicly endorse/support an NFL team over another at a national media level (TV, streaming services, social media, podcasts, etc).

Statues, retirement ceremonies, etc do not fall into this category as "rooting" as they are regional events.

I believe Tom cares about Kraft, Vrabes, and the NEP and wants them to succeed....he just can't root for them publicly.

Brady called the SB last year but it didnt stop him from saying he was basically rooting for Mahomes and the Chiefs (the divisional rival of the Raiders) to 3-peat

It would have been no different if he said "no one has ever won a SB as a player and head coach with the same team so I'd be really happy to see Mike do that" or "No franchise has won 7 SBs although I have won 7 so it would be nice to see my old team match me in SBs.

The Vrabel angle would have been a slam dunk where no would even give a **** because it's Brady wishing a former teammate of nearly a decade to make history.

honestly don’t know why he doesn’t just lie for our sake an say he’s rooting for the pats

there’s no way Kraft would have been allowed to sell Brady a stake after all the paycuts

Ya it would have been blocked by the league. Also who is to say Kraft didn't offer to sell Brady 1-2% and Brady turned it down because he and the guy he bought into the Raiders with were looking for a bigger stake in a team

Legally speaking, he isn't violating a loyalty clause.

The nuance is Tom would be happy for a player or a coach to do well and not rooting for a team to win.

Notice how other owners never publicly root for another team. Ever.

Name a sports GOAT who wasn't a weirdo off the field/court. Usually they struggle at their next jobs too.

Brady/Jordan/Gretzky/and idk you you want to say is the GOAT in baseball but I know a bunch of contenders were freaks.
Ohtani seems pretty normal to me. And, with me it's not recency bias. As a kid, I saw Ted Williams play.

He doesn't effing care. He's a millionaire.
He's not Al Bundy.
A. I think he will be approaching Billionaire status pretty soon.

B. Thats exactly the point, he has money, great looks, etc, etc, etc, but glory on gridiron is what he loves and what got him to where he is. And he can't have that anymore.

I will always love Brady for what he did here, but it gets more clear by the year that he has no real interest in being a part of the New England Patriots community. Brady has been back here (publicly at least) three times since he left. Once as the starting QB for the Bucs, then for his retirement ceremony, which he apparently flew out of town before the afterparty even started, and then for the statue unveiling, which also had to get pushed multiple times because he couldn't seem to make the time for it.

Now he is part owner of another AFC team and "doesn't have a dog in the fight," even though he played 20 years here and also publicly backed Stafford for MVP over Drake. I know Fred Kirsh remarked multiple times about all the stuff Brady was doing for the Bucs social media page and that he never wanted to do that stuff here. On Instagram, he still follows the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but not the Patriots. I am glad former teammates are calling him out on it because so many of us supported him when he went to Tampa, but that seems to be a one-way street.
