That's bad news for the Seahawks if that injury is a high ankle sprain. We saw the same injury completely nerf Gronk in SB46 and Brady to a lesser extent in that other Giants game that shall not be named.

Pats definitely get a break here like Kam Chancellor's MCL tear in practice before XLIX.
If it was bad he’d be walking around in a boot at the very least.

Not necessarily, I have an ankle sprain with 12-week recovery no boot, no cast needed actually they prefer not to wear one for faster recovery. I did use a cane for a few days to keep pressure off it.

The fact he's putting a lot of weight on it already leads me to think to no more than a grade 1 normal sprain. If so, in most cases he would be good enough to go by Sunday. They would need to wrap it tight to prevent reoccurrence.
I would not except him to practice at all before Super Bowl but just based on video I expect he will try to play.

FWIW I think that's the same injury that happened to Amon-Ra St Brown this season. He had to leave the game but he gutted it out and was able to play in the next game. He had a recovery time of 1 week though, this is half of that. He'll play but doubtful he's 100%.

There are some funny aspects of Ditka's Saints.

The 1997 team had a top 10 defense and led the league in sacks. They ran the 4-6 scheme, and they racked up big sack numbers that season. On the other side of the field, the offense was pathetic and one of the worst in the league and could probably be historically bad. The defense eventually started giving up points due to the short fields the offense gave teams.

Ditka didn't believe in free agency. His only free agency signing was Heath Schuler who turned out to be an epic bust. These are the years when the Saints had the Billy Joes at QB. They signed Kerry Collins after he was run out of Carolina and he had a few good games, but couldn't stay healthy.

Saints fans were PUMPED over Rickey Williams. The hype was real. He didn't last long here, and Deuce McAllister stole all his thunder and became the big fan favorite.

After Ditka was fired, the Saints went all in on free agency signings and put together a pretty good team in 2000 that won their first franchise playoff game. As badly as Ditka handled their drafts, the flip side was his lack of belief in free agency led to something they could build on in the 2000s.

In today's era of social media, Ditka's Saints would've been a clown show like the Jets are. He was a loudmouth who was always making statements in pressers. His teams did dumb stuff, as mentioned by how putrid the offenses were. There were little things like how he cut Jim Everett, who went on to rub it on him when Everett's Chargers beat the Saints the following year. Then there are the heartbreaker games that are sadly forgotten by most people, where Ditka had his antics.

This is the one that most people still remember, but there were plenty of others. They lost to the 49ers one time with Billy Joe throwing a pick six in the final 2 minutes when it was tied. (Back when they faced SF twice a year and couldn't beat them)

Ditka was battling the narrative that Buddy Ryan was responsible for delivering a World Championship to Chicago. If you recall the Bears defense carried Buddy off the Superbowl field that fateful day in January. The rest of the Bears team carried Ditka off the field. Ditka and Buddy did not get along at all. Hardly anyone coexisted with Buddy and that is the way he liked it. Tom Landry used to chuckle when asked about Buddy Ryan shaking his head with a rare seen smile. Buddy got into a fight with Kevin Gilbride on the sidelines during a game when he was coaching with the Houston Oilers.

Ditkas Saints press conferences were legendary. Especially after a loss. A Ditka press conference made a BB press conference look like Mr Rogers tv show.

Yeah. He might not be 100%, but there's a good chance he's on the field.

Ive been telling folks about Moses upon mostly deaf ears. I even went out on a limb predicting that something would happen to the Seahawks that would impact the game.

Id say this qualifies. Now will yall believe me?

Who’s Moses?

I had a broken ankle and was told not to wear a boot. They wanted me to work on range because of the specific area of the break. They were worried about me recovering range of motion.

He won't be 100% though.
He was the MVP of the NFCCG, and really the piece of that defense that makes them go if you watch any tape. If he's actually hobbled, it changes the calculus.

Re Emmanwori's ankle, two words...

Terrell Owens

Don't underestimate the effects of pharnaceuticals, adrenaline, the lure of the SB trophy, and the competitive spirit.

I’m not too far away, which hotel is Seattle at? I can give em an early wake up call Sunday morning
The Red Auerbach way. Imagine if the fire alarm went off at 4:00 am. Hard to get back to sleep at that time

We had them just where we wanted them... .

I say in football, also in hockey...any endurance sport. If you have fit athletes, then that is an advantage over talented athletes. Being physically fit WILL keep you in any game. That comes with stacking days in preparation and stacking days in getting your body ready. It does not just show up on gameday. They cursed Mount Belichick but in the end it gave them the gas they would burn in this SB to make the plays.

What a glorious comeback. On this date, 2017.

Actually the line has moved another point in Seattle's favor.

I was expecting that after the way the playoffs went. For most of the country, that was their introduction to Drake Maye. So they think the Patriots are opportunistic grinders, and that Maye is more dangerous running than throwing. They've never seen this offense in good weather. They may be in for something of a surprise.

There's been a pretty wide gulf between public perception and reality for this team all season long. I am NOT a betting woman, but I did place a modest wager on them to win the Superbowl back in October.

He'll play but doubtful he's 100%.
I agree. No way he is 100% and it will be stiff from the wrap so he will not run or cut as well, and it will not get better as the game progresses.

Spillane was walking around on the sidelines, so probably similar to Spillane, but Spillane has had 2 weeks so hopefully he is a lot stronger.
