I'm curious if HOF voters have to vote "yes" or "no" to each person on the ballot. In that case "I voted for him" doesn't mean much.

Regardless, Polian's a rule tweaking *****.

I'm surprised he didn't try to pass a rule that automatically spots a team 7 pts if your starting quarterback has a giant ducking HGH enhanced melon.
I'm pretty sure only x many can make it, so they only have enough "yes" votes for the amount than can get in. So someone can sort of justify themselves as voting yes for somebody to go in for whatever reasons and not necessarily voting no on the others.

There's a big chance a lot of them did go in with the mentality of "there's very limited spots, I'm not giving it to two guys from the same team, and we held Kraft off for a few years and this is Bill's first"

I hope he keeps quiet and let folks do the talking.

So look…should he be in? 100% yes.

Did he do it to himself by being an insufferable prick to everyone any chance he got?

Also yes.
Says the guy who posted the video of Campbell’s missed cut block and then said he was horrible vs the Broncos when in fact Bonitto did not crack the stat sheet

I don’t know why these specific voters didn’t vote for him. Could be they had a grudge, overweighted Spy Gate, think he has made a fool of himself.

But the fact is that he has behaved like a douche bag for much of his career. It was cute to us for a long time because it was constant winning. Bill didn’t need to be that way.

He should absolutely 100% still be in. But he made more than a few enemies and that’s probably why he isn’t first ballot.

What does that have to do with his point?

Here’s the thing. If you don’t vote in someone who is deserving because of your personal animosity against that person, you’ve proven you’re incapable of putting the ideals of the HOF above your own pettiness. It really says more about the voters than it does Bill with all his faults.

We all have different opinions on this.
We all agree that he 10000000% should be a first ballot HOFer.
But to say he isn't partially responsible for all the hate towards him is just wrong.
This. Great coach. Arguably the greatest ever. His legacy is cemented and he should 100% be a first ballot hof coach.

I’m just not surprised some people are bitter towards him however that shouldn’t count towards not getting votes so the hof is coming off biased right now and that’s not a good look for the NFL

It does, but the voters aren't robots.
They are people with personal feelings and grudges.
Should this be the way, no, but it is.
He should be in first ballot, but it's not surprising at all.

What they're really trying to do is amplify Spygate so that's his legacy

It's pretty gross really, given what we know about the transgression and over penalization

They already got their pound of flesh, but it wasn't enough.

The Colts are and always have been *****es to the nth degree.

Exactly. There is always a human element. Otherwise the HOF could just be a set criteria of adjusting stats and performance per era and saying "okay after 5 years if you hit these metrics, you are in". The plus side is that they generally consider things like impact and what people meant over raw numbers. The downside is that you can have egos and grudges that can work against someone deserving.

I did not post a video of the cut block.

I do think Campbell was horrible in the first two playoff games (objectively true), and that cut block attempt was terrible. I do give him credit for being better that first half.

I give him no credit for the second half. No one is a pass rush threat in 3 inches of slush.

Also what does any of that have to do with Bill being a prick for 25 years?

That’s irrelevant. Ty Cobb is in the baseball HoF despite his character. The voters are weak minded people, by allowing their feelings to get in the way.

Fair. But let’s not pretend Bill didn’t also have some ugly cheating accusations more than once that a lot of folks hold against him. Barry Bonds isn’t in the MLB HOF….which is asinine, but lots of folks hold PED’s against him.

The real issue I have it seems Bill ****ing Polian was the heavy voice in the room. That can’t happen.

So Brady isn’t going into the HOF? That’s the line of argument here. Because if they vote Tom in and not Brady, the cheating accusations are ******** and it’s simple pettiness dressed up as concern for the sanctity of the game.
