Weather was similarly last season too and the spanked us 40-7..

I legitimately question anyone citing that game last year

-Completely different coaching staff

-Maye vastly improved

-4/5 of the OL is different (the OL last year was Lowe-Robinson-Strange-Onwenu-Jacobs, only Onwenu and Lowe are still with the team and Lowe is a backup and in the time he has played has looked decently better having Doug Marone as the OL coach and McDaniels being a competent OC )

-#1,#4, #5 WR are different (last year the 4 and 5 WR were Polk & Baker, this year it will be Williams & Chism. Williams has shown much more than Polk or Baker ever did and Chism small sample size but his 3 catches alone he only has 12 yards less than Polk had all year)

-#1B RB is different (a guy that lead the team in total yards and total TDs)

-8 different starters on defense (LE, RE, #1 DT, #1-#2 LB, #2 CB, both S)

I'm not confident, I'm hopeful. But I could easily see a loss tonight if 2 things happen:
1. DL can't pressure Herbert enough and limit the 3rd down runs/conversions
2. Maye and/or offense commits more than 1 turnover
My biggest fears are still the defense and ref ****ery. Hope they don't spot the Chargers 7+ points.

I think by mentioning that game last year may have gotten posters a bit off track.

I mentioned it strictly as a motivational reminder.. as could Vrabel point to the game in the meeting room? I say yes! For example He was mic'd up this training camp asking Drake how many TDs did he score last season... not enough Vrabel said..

Your correct on everything you stated and I agree entirely..

Past patiots teams used anything they could as added motivational and that game from last year is just that.. added motivation if anything..

Davis getting beat over the top or a PI call in a crucial moment is what scares me..

One of the podcasts mentioned this referee crew is of the let em play variety which would be davis friendly. thats just better in general though

Unless it's extreme, don't think it makes much difference ... 27, while chilly, ain't that bad... If it were 10 degrees, different story
While the Chargers play mostly in warm weather don't forget they have had some cold games in Denver and KC. I think the weather aspect tends to get overblown

I read earlier this week that this crew flags the home team more often, and that this crew is a disadvantage for the pats. I didn't bother posting the article because i was sure that the topic would be discussed later in the week leading up to the game.

Skip to the 3 min mark if you want bypass the hype stuff. Tons of Maye and Brady passes...

Mea culpa my bad. I meant it didn’t guarantee against getting the flu. The bigger benefit is if you get it, it tends to give some good benefits to keeping the severity down. Very much like the Covid vaccines. People shouldn’t look at it as surprising if people with the vaccine actually get the flu. But it is an important protection against more terrible outcomes. What I was (badly) trying to to get at is that it doesn’t mean Morgan Moses is anti-vaxx or anything.
Our youngest son and wife are both germaphobes. They had all of the vaccines that were offered during the coronavirus and were as well prepared as could be with everything else needed.

Our oldest son and his wife (from Beijing ironically) are the opposite and didn't get any of the vaccines offered.

My wife and I got the first round of vaccines but that was all.

All of us got the virus for a week or two with the exact same symptoms.

What a day of football. Can’t wait! My family ain’t seeing me til 12:00 am tonight. Couch…

Had to change the channel. Maybe some people like Rex Ryan (onlyfans feet models, perhaps). But he’s such a blowhard loser. What he knows is he beat Josh McD in the playoffs….. Rex. You’ve been a perennial loser. The one time you won, as the DC of an epic D anyone of us could’ve coached, you were riding the wave…

If so I absolutely embrace it. Playoff football should be played like such.

Yeah, according to the article below the podcast i listened to was wrong. Torbert’s crew has thrown the 5th most penalties, ugh .

the point is that the weather didn't matter
Sure, in the sense that weather won't matter if the NFL all pro team plays the Jewett Elementary Tigers in a blizzard. If the team is much better it won't matter. When they're about even it makes a difference

Is that a typo regarding the Chargers?? Didn't they extend Herbert already?? That looks like a expansion Teams cap space for a Team that can compete for a Championship.

They have a lot of old players like Khalil Mack and Keenan Allen coming off the books. And they only have 36 players under contract next year. Herbert's cap number next year is $46.3 million.

They only have two other players with a cap hit over $12.5 million. That is why they have so much cap room. Much of their best players are on rookie deals.

They have several defensive starters that are free agents next year that they are going to have to pay or replace like Mack, Teair Tart, and Odafe Oweh. Plus, they have some young players they are going to want to extend now that are going to be expensive like Tuli Tuipulotu.
