When Vrabel become Head Coach as a fan I immediately felt a feeling of confidence and that the team would be well coached and be watchable.

After back to back 4 win seasons.. to have 14 Wins this season is more than anyone could have thought of. Even the most optimistic of a fan probably thought 10 or 11 wins.

Vrabel has been a hands on coach from working with players individually and learning them as men, thier backgrounds and thier families.

Go back to the offseason when Rham lost his father the entire team attended services, And embraced Rham and his family. Tavai had a family loss and he embraced him and his family as well.

The way he has handled Diggs and Barmore in thier off field situations as well.

Vrabel's coaching style is a modern day approach to handle this generation of NFL players.

The way he has coached Drake and allowed him grow into the QB and leader that he is.

The genuine love and respect the players have for Vrabel speaks volumes to what he's meant thier career trajectory.

It really made me even more appreciative as a fan during the game last night allowing veterans like Diggs, Henry, Chaisson to reach thier contract incentives.

I felt the need to post a thread to show appreciation to Coach Vrabel as the regular season ends and the postseason season begins.

We are fortunate as Patriots fans to Have Coach Mike Vrabel!!!

I wanted a offensive minded coach but never doubted that Vrabel would being much needed stability.
Ben Johnson for example doesn't IMO have the personality or the pedigree that Vrabel brings to a team.. from a former player, former NFLPA representative.. and worked his way around the league in coaching.

Like many great coaches, great leader's generally, he's kind of an ******* (a self-acknowledged one, in fact). How's that for a mixed message?

I'm glad he's our coach, and when he starts with the bloviating macho coachspeak, I'm glad I have a mute button.

Speaking of a good use for a mute button. . .

I wanted Vrabel here, first choice candidate. Glad we got him. add to that bringing back JMD, instant credibility on the sidelines. Ben Johnson would have been an acceptable alternative. Did some impressive work with Chicago this year.

I know right.

Come on Patsfans be consistent what's his record without Maye?

Just to be clear, I think he's a really good HC, and I am glad we have him, but he is kind of a bloviating macho poseur, right? I mean, he himself has kind of embraced the "I'm a lovable *******" thing (as a pretty obvious self-compliment, but still). I guess I just have reservations about the "lovable" part. I'd go with "forgivable." As a more than occasional ******* myself, I kind of understand these things.

Tbh I was not much of a fan of Vrabel when he was Titans coach for many of the same reasons you called out.

It's 9 games over .500.

Also - hmmm..

It's interesting that you'd tell the board on your first post here to "be consistent". I think my SBB burner account antenna just went up....

Agreed. Interesting differences BTW him and belichick who was also an *******.

Having been a player here hes gonna get a pass for lots of it. I think I was worried at first that itd be a Mike Signaltry (sp) situation where you hope he isn't a blowhard. Vrabs knows what hes doing and has a GOOD supporting cast which helps a ton.

Vrabel is the quintessential coach for this team/organization.

-Former player (for this organization)
-Played at a high level
-Won Super Bowls
-Student of the game
-Learned from the greatest coach of all time
-Able to connect with both vets/younger players
-No nonsense approach; leader of men/accountability
-Learned from prior experiences in TEN
-Former NFLPA
-Won postseason games in TEN
-Understands the pulse of the team/city

Maybe too subtle?

Although, it would be an improvement.

Account's very first post is a challenge to the whole forum with SBB's exact same worn out schtick.

About as subtle as Cam Newton's wardrobe.
