I prefer no rain and cold so this was the best possible slot (besides monday night which i dont want). Should be in the 30s or 20s at that time if this forecast holds up.

Vrabel can really play up the fact that the chargers wanted us. I understand why they wanted to rest up but fact remains they were okay with the lower seed.

I feel confident about this. Tough team but we are better
It will be mid 30s. Low will barely make it down to the high 20s and that will be well after midnight. Closer to predawn.

Mid 30s is plenty cold enough

Their pass rush is outstanding, it won't be a walkover.
I don't think there are any walkovers in the playoffs this year. Including Carolina, they are scrappy bunch at home. Already beat LA at home this season. Not that I expect that result but I truly think every team has a legit shot at running the table this year (outside Carolina).

I'm a bit concerned. Their pass rush is better than the Texans.

I think Maye will get his though.
No it’s not. Anderson & Hunter alone usurp their entire DL.

The Chargers have a very good solid defense. Nothing special..

Please stop with the Teams, if you are going to start a Thread.

Thanks

Agreed. I just looked to see average January high temperatures in Los Angeles vs Foxborough. There’s about a thirty degree difference. Average daily highs are 69 in LA and 37 in Foxborough.

It’ll be plenty cold for a southern California team, and will feel like Florida for the Pats and their fans as the highs haven’t gotten higher than the mid-30s for the last 3 weeks.

Looking ahead, Denver's defense is very good but their offense is beatable. Bo Nix only had one completion over 10 yards today.

This is what we’ve been saying all season about him. He’s solid, but…….

The only reason certain fans or teams may fear Denver is because of their defense & HFA…It literally has nothing to do with Nix.

They have a great pass rush no doubt, but Anderson, Hunter and Barnett from Houston worry me much more to be honest. Still will be a big challenge for our offense

Same reason I would have gladly had Houston come here. In fact I think LA is a tougher matchup than Houston.

The Chargers mailed it in the last two weeks. Expect more of the same next Sunday night when they play in the bitter Foxboro cold.

As long as Maye keeps playing well, and the run game keeps producing, I feel confident. Also, getting healthy at the right time, got Boutte, Williams and Campbell back for today’s game (and they all looked good), and should be getting Spillane & Landry back for the playoffs. Hopefully they get Jared Wilson back as well.

This is the 5th postseason matchup between the Patriots and Chargers. Pats are 3-1. Chargers won 1963 AFL Championship at home 51-10 in 1963. Pats won divisionals in 2006 on the road and 2018 at home, and 2007 AFC Championship game at home.

2018 game was total domination and quite satisfying to watch, but the 2006 one was my favorite of the bunch. The LDT “Classy” game that we really had no business winning but totally gutted out, and was the Magnum Opus of Marty Schottenheimer’s postseason coaching career.

More weather, from Grok:

Revenge for last season.

Media keeps saying team A or team B would want to go to NE, but NE is a terrible matchup for the Chargers. Chargers don't scare anyone with their passing attack and NE has 1 elite CB and 2 other capable CB's which doesn't bode well for LAC. If NE's defense is at full strength, it will be a long day for the Chargers offense.

LAC defense is going to get shredded by NE.
