Why DB? Do you think some team will give Miami draft assets AND take on Tua's contract too. It is more likely they will cut him OR keep him next year and let him try and fight for a role for another year.

Regardless, they are pretty much tucked next year no matter what they do.
As I stated, Ken. Yes. I believe a team WILL give up a draft pick because Tua's Contract is only an albatross to Miami. They take it on and it, essentially, becomes a 1yr prove it deal for Tua. While some people believe that Miami can go into next season with more than 100M in dead cap space (they already have over $35M and Tua would add another 67M by cutting him), I don't believe they can. Especially if they end up cutting Tyreek Hill.

I agree that Miami put themselves in a bad situation. The Combo of McDaniel and Grier was bad and it's going to take them years to recover.

We might be looking at this WR room Sunday:

Diggs
Williams
Douglas
Chism

Good game to see Williams in a starting role & if Chism can offer anything in the slot. The jets have no pass rush or secondary left.

I would expect Jiles to be elevated since he can provide Kick Return ability as well.

Just not as a returner please..

Henderson was listed as questionable for Sunday.

So there’s at least some chance he clears concussion protocol by then.

It was my understanding that a player in the Concussion Protocol couldn't practice. The fact that Henderson was practicing today tells me that he'll be dressed for Sunday. They may limit his snap count, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him dressed.

Might see Jiles or Webb as game day activations from PS too. Douglas is questionable, if he is active Chism may not get called on.
The Pats run a lot of 4 and 5 wide sets. If Chism is dressed, I'd expect him to be out there. Especially since Douglas is nursing a hamstring injury.

The Chis can finally get a stat and not only on ST's: I wonder if he can have more stats in one game than both Polk and Baker last year?? Not far fetched??

I don’t want Milly playing on that field anyway..

Depends on the step of the protocol. He progresses from no practice to non-contact to full. If at any step he experiences symptoms it’s back to square one. He is listed as questionable for Sunday. We’ll see what they do. From the trend I would guess “out” even if he passes each step, but that’s just a guess based on Williams and others ( more healing is better).

Good explanation of the protocol steps here:

Good lord the players being ruled out this week is ugly. Didn’t expect that.

Can we wish for snow too so is hard for DBs to see them.

Or would that make it unnecessarily hard for Drake to find them & as the DBs might accidentally be near the right coverage spot.

WR's without Hollins or Boutte is tough. Maye will be forced to force it to Diggs and finally KW more - which might create Jets to finally get a pick or two - I hope not. Not even sure how usable Pop will be with a hammy. Maybe Jiles can get the call and play the Hollins role - he was doing well in preseason.
More likely, this will just be a ground & pound game. Be smart and churn clock, and try to escape without injury and a win.

On the front 7 - another game leaning on Durden & Gregory & probably call-up for Pharms.
Hopefully Tavai & Gibbens can keep improving, maybe a bit of work for Muma??

So what’s the deal with Spillane?

He almost plays a couple weeks ago, now can’t even practice? It obviously wasn’t initially seen as a serious injury since he wasn’t placed on IR.

I’m gonna guess this is a nagging issue getting worse? Not great if so. I think he’s critical to any playoff run.

He didn't " almost play," he was just there. Like Campbell and others he's the kind of guy who hates being out and will make himself as available as possible, but Vrabel has been protecting his players all season and it has paid off for them. People *****ed like crazy when Gonzalez missed time, but he's lasted all season since coming back. Stevenson went down for a while, and Vrabel could have rushed him back, but he didn't, and it payed off when Henderson went down. Vrabel knows they won't be playing for keeps until about a month from now, and he's going to try and send them into the playoffs as close to 100% as possible.

The following SEVEN players have been ruled out against the Jets:
  • WR Mack Hollins (abdomen)
  • WR Kayshon Boutte (concussion protocol)
  • G Jared Wilson (concussion protocol)
  • DT Milton Williams (ankle — IR return)
  • DT Khyris Tonga (foot)
  • LB Harold Landry III (knee)
  • LB Robert Spillane (ankle)
Having BOTH Williams and Tonga out hurts. Likely also means that one of the two elevations will be a DT
With both Hollins and Boutte out, the Pats will likely be elevating one of Jiles or Webb. My bet is Jiles.. It also means that Kyle Williams is going to have to really step up his game.

The Pats already took the step of signing Jaimes to the 53 to cover Wilson being out.

The Pats already have Chaisson, Jennings, Ponder and Swinson for edge players.

Gibbens, Ellis and Tavai are going to have to step things up..

Regardless of the Elevations, the Pats will only have 47 active unless they dress Devito as more than the Emergency 3rd QB. They could be making a move to put someone on the IR tomorrow. IF they do, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Jared Wilson or Kayshon Boutte or both.

I just hope OL can keep healthy and keep Maye safe. Sure, it's nice to see young guys get a chance on offense - but not if it means a bunch of INT's or sacks for Maye. I also think they'll protect Hendo, which might mean Johnson gets some reps too.
Big game for Rham & Henry.

That’s a disastrous injury report, I’ve haven’t seen something like that since 2015.

It’s probably good to sit all of those guys out to get back healthy for the playoffs. Need to pray that we come out of the Jet’s game clean.

Seeing the Henderson injury update was very nice.

Either of these next two games could be traps but I think vrabel has the team too focused to lose. Hoping campbell, Milton, and Spillane are all able to play next week.

The#1 seed is still on the table!!
I think Vrabel is trying to rest everyone with injuries as much as possible (very smart), and the JETS and Lolphins will be tanking by sitting their better players. We beat the Ravens (who were trying) without Campbell, Williams, and Spillane and I am sure we can beat the JETS and Lolphins, who are tanking, without them too.
