So he just needs an incredibly talented, incredibly troubled receiver to make the offense work? No problem!
AJ Brown is on Line 1, sir!

Motion, lots of motion with Hill and Waddle on the field at the same time when they were both a) healthy and b) in their primes.Someone who understands this better than me, what was McDaniel doing when he was getting Tua to look effective in 2022 and 2023, when Tua led the league in passer rating (2022) and passing yards (2023)?
So, we are saying that the MIA Offense is one key player away from allowing Tua to be a top 10 QB?So he just needs an incredibly talented, incredibly troubled receiver to make the offense work? No problem!
Miami has no money. They're paying Hill and Waddle QB money, not to mention they're paying their QB, QB money. So, we are saying that the MIA Offense is one key player away from allowing Tua to be a top 10 QB?

If this is even close to true, then the short-term answer for MIA is trade for or to sign a top WR.
It would be easier to sign a top WR in the next couple of years than it would be to cut Tua.Miami has no money. They're paying Hill and Waddle QB money, not to mention they're paying their QB, QB money.
Who is this top WR who is magically available and wants to go to Miami? It would be easier to sign a top WR in the next couple of years than it would be to cut Tua.
Miami is currently 30 million over the cap for next year.It would be easier to sign a top WR in the next couple of years than it would be to cut Tua.
2026 haven't even started yet and we have Four wins: Two against the Jets and Miami.Miami is currently 30 million over the cap for next year.
Why does McDaniel even still want to be HC?Miami is currently 30 million over the cap for next year.
I want to see more out of him starting this Sunday night. Baltimore is going to be a tough matchup. We NEED for Barmore to be a factor. Could it be He's not 100% ?? With Williams out im expecting him to step up?
What's your take?
So does Buffalo.2026 haven't even started yet and we have Four wins: Two against the Jets and Miami.
AFCE is going to be a dogfight from now until Allen retires. So does Buffalo.
Two Team race from now on: may the healthier Team wins.AFCE is going to be a dogfight from now until Allen retires.
Miami beat Buffalo...So does Buffalo.
I want to preface by saying that I didn't think Barmore was ever going to play again after his blood clot diagnosis. But since he's returned, he's clearly not the same player he once was. There's no hating there.
In 2023, there was no threat of Judon along the edge after week 4 and the secondary was garbage. Everyone knew Barmore was the only threat, yet he still found a way to get to the QB. Barmore had a career high 8.5 sacks in only 15 games. Only 1 of those sacks was when Judon was playing. He also had 13 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits and 6 passes defended for that season. In the last 18 games, he's had a whopping 2 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, 8 QB hits and 0 passes defensed. His production has taken a complete nose dive with a better overall supporting cast. What's even worse, the majority of his current production was with Milton Williams in the lineup along with Landry/Chaisson on the edge, Gonzalez/Davis at CB, Spillane at LB.
While his contract for 2025 and 2026 are manageable, it's 2027 where he starts to creep into the top 10 of both cash and cap hits. Meanwhile, Williams' cash and cap hits are top 3 for DT's for the next 4 years. That's another reason why it doesn't make sense to pay two very high contracts with not much to show for it so far.
Give Drake hill, achane. And Waddle.. we Would lead the league in PPG..Tua fish...
Owenu is gone after this season. That's where they have their out. He's due $25M which is 4th for all G's and 8th in cash at $17.5M. I will be stunned if he returns at that number. There's NFW that Barmore sees that 2027 contract here at those terms, same as Onemenu, The Fumbler & the Sloppy Jalopy will never see their '26 contracts at the same #s either, and Uncle Dugg already hasn't. Thanks again Eliot!
I believe Wilson is moving to C next season anyway.. so New LG and new RG, Campbell and Bryant will be the OTs..Or, cheaper & better for the longer term, two new Offensive Guards (Wilson moves to Center).
Those ownenu, rham, Dugger, Barmore contracts were handed out becuase of the publicity the organization was getting out of being last in cash spending.. it's not so much that they were such awesome players.. also according to the CBA the team had to spend cap dollars..Owenu is gone after this season. That's where they have their out. He's due $25M which is 4th for all G's and 8th in cash at $17.5M. I will be stunned if he returns at that number.
Rham won't offer much savings unless he's traded after June 1st which is unlikely. The Pats will just have to take the $4.8M dead cap hit and move on to make room for another RB.
They are stuck with Williams for the next 2 years after 2025, so Barmore could be a surprise trade candidate to some posters.
It always makes me wonder, if our Alabama 1st round draft pick QB played just a little bit better, would we have found ourselves signing a similar contract?
Finding a QB that can play at all at the NFL level is really hard.
It's pretty easy for a GM to talk themselves and their fan base that this guy is showing enough flashes to want to lock them in early.
On the flip side, if you don't and that QB goes on to play decently elsewhere, you look like a dunce aka Daniel Jones.
So it seems the GMs often decide to roll the dice. They know the experiment will take a year or two to run its course, and in the mean time, they will be cashing the owner's fat paychecks.
In our case, Mac Jones couldn't outplay Bailey Zappe or Joe Milton so we dodged that bullet, yet his play in SF shows he could do okay if protected like fine china.
