Guys saying she's an administrative assistant makes it sound like she's a greeter at Walmart. It's an attempt to degrade or marginalize her. Thanks for making the point that she had a team of people under her.
Administrative assistants are vital employees who have important roles. You should not denigrate them by comparing them to Walmart greeters or saying her role is degrading or marginalized.
She has been a great employee for the organization, there is no doubt of that. But the fact that her role is not one that should warrant induction is no reason for you to categorize her like that

The replies on here are wild. Amazing the wild stuff some people will create in their head because they disagree about an opinion.

No. The opinion is fine. The question of if Meier's tenure, role, and contribution should be considered for the NEP HoF is a legitimate discussion.

The issue posters have is how some on this board have characterized a Director-level people leader making well above six-figures in a $750m company with an important role as just a secretary. One, it's not accurate. Two, it's misogynistic.

Damn that @Steve102 for degrading her like that

Oh that's gonna leave a mark.

Next thing it'll go from misogyny to the narcissism of referring to yourself in the 3rd person and claiming the moral compass of others only exists because of your influence

"Steve-o thinks..."

Per Andy, the Hall is for coaches and players. Do we remove Gil Santos?

I would. Are you saying that because they did it I have to agree with it?

I dont care what you agree with but there is a precedent for adding non players and coaches to all Hall of Fames. There are many ways to contribute to the success of sports teams and those contribtions should be recognized.

And my opinion is that the Hall of Fame should be reserved for players and coaches.
You have every right to have whatever opinion you want, but you seem to want to dictate what mine should be.

Saying i dont care what you agree with is indicative of dictating what your opinion should be? I dont think so. I merely presented a difference of opinion;

Who was Gil Santos a 'secretary' for? I don't think having a discussion about what positions merit HoF level recognition justifies all that much dialogue. After all, everyone is entitled to their own personal mental HoF with their own individualized criteria. At the end of the day it's Kraft's call who he decides to have there so his opinion is the only one that matters anyway. Casually referring to someone holding a Director level position in the front office hierarchy as a 'secretary' is dismissive to the point of derision. Focusing on the inconsequential HoF part of the comment trivializes the casual misogyny of the comment and moves the goalposts to an easily defensible field.

The subtle misogyny is still rampant in this country, sadly

Thread Title: "Nancy Meier is Retiring"

Last two posts of the thread: This country is still rife with subtle misogyny and misandry

Huh. Interesting path.

It's what might be called, OT ruminations. Or contemplative excess. IOW, B.S.-ing unnecessarily.

Kraft can put Meier in the NE HOF.

It would be a worthy gesture and inspire present NEP employees to also reach the NE HOF through dedication and hard work like Meier.

Name
: Patriots Hall of Fame

How voting works: A committee of media members, former coaches, former players and team employees nominates candidates annually, and then votes for three finalists. The finalists then are presented to fans, who vote for the inductee on the team website. There are exceptions when owner Robert Kraft uses his executive power to induct a deserving candidate.

Glaring omission: None. -- Mike Reiss

There really are no hard and fast rules regarding NFL teams HOF.

Its solely up to the team to decide.

The Bears and Raiders don't have a HOF or Ring of Honor. The Rams HOF is in limbo since they moved to LA. The Broncos have a play by play announcer in theirs. The Packers HOF isn't even part of the franchise.

Jimmy Johnson is still omitted from the Cowboys Ring of Honor. They have not won or been to a Super Bowl since he was HC. Jerry Jackson claims that he is going to induct him.

Carl Peterson isn't in the Chiefs Ring of Honor. That's wild. Peterson built the 90's Chiefs teams that won so many games.

FYI Jerry put Jimmy in the Boys RoH in 2023. It was in the Jerry Jones doc on Netflix.
