To me, that's the story of the game.

The offense needed some decently long drives in the second half to keep the ball out of Allen's hands and couldn't get it done.

The second half of the drive chart looks like **** for us other than the one TD.

The kick return team put the defense onto a short field.

The defense was not up to full strength, and in particular was missing its best player, and was gassed by the end of the game.

It was the classic team loss, IMO.
The Offense needed ONE long drive and there was 2:45 on the clock with BUF ahead by 4.

To be fair: the “soft part of the schedule” applies to the pats entire schedule
So one could make the same point that the pats easy schedule has deluded fans into thinking pats are a good team

Historically easy, as a matter of fact.

Your first mistake is believing PFF grading. It's just wrong, and takes nothing into account (like double and triple-teams, scheme, etc).

If Barmore were the 55th best player at his position, in reality-land, he would have been the one traded to SF and not Keion White, because he would have garnered a much higher draft pick.

Also, Elliss is not getting better - he's still got zero instincts for an off-ball linebacker. If he were bigger and had any skill, maybe you turn him into a pass-rusher or something, but the dude's a career special teamer forced into playing defense.
I mentioned the Barmore of 2023 got through double teams and got to the QB.. again here. I like Barmore I'm only criticism of his play this season he's been on the field if a player is out there they are healthy enough to play right?

Ok we agree to disagree on Ellis is often see him making plays of impact because Barmore and the defense line have been taking naps in the run game often Ellis is left having to take care of RBs.. I see a player improving in Ellis and you don't ok fair enough.

Elliss is hardly the issue on defense in my opinion. Maybe he's a rotation player forced into playing more snaps ok I'll admit that.. but i won't say he's not improving.. you mentioned instincts he saved a TD on the Knox pass deflection.

Again Tommy I'm cognizant that Barmore has been through something very serious. Only criticism is his play not the man.

2019: Tank for Tua!

2025: Tank because of Tua!

Looks like they have a lot more tanking to do...

Interesting that MIA has as many wins as KC!

They're not going to tank enough to get a top QB, which raises the question of who is better than Tua that they're going to be able to get for next year. And if there isn't anyone, do they just plan to truly tank next season to get a high pick?

so the last 2 weeks we’re facing quinn ewers and tyrod Taylor. Thats whats standing in our way for the division title.

Sounds like McDaniels might bench Tua:
If they bench him, I have to think they try to move him in the offseason. The real question is who would take Tua off their hands (looking at you, Jets)?
I seriously think the Dolphins would need to trade assets along with Tua to get another team to take his contract. The Dolphins won’t be receiving anything back.

What would the Dolphins need to staple to Tua to entice another team to take him?

First round picks, multiple.

Even if you think Tua's good, he's on the hook for almost 60 million, AND he's one hit away from eating applesauce through a tube the rest of his life.

If you're trading for Tua, you a) have cap space and b) are waiting for the 2027 draft to get your QB.

Isn't this essentially the same as the end of Russell Wilson and his Denver contract? Miami will probably just have to suck it up, cut players, and get a very cheap QB and start again. So maybe ride with McDaniels again next year knowing that none of it matters, and basically tank for 2027?

I think if Ewers can show anything, he'll be the starter next year. And even if he doesn't, I can see them putting Tua in bubble wrap to slow the CTE. Tank for 2027 could be on the menu - although Miami's drafting has been absolutely dreadful.

They haven't hired a new GM. I could see them tanking in 2026 and cleaning house for a new GM/HC/QB combo starting in 2027.

I wonder if Ross will be having the same conversation with McDaniels about tanking that he had with Flores?
