What a Turnaround...

You're absolutely right Scott! They play like a team all pulling in one direction.. I just get that feeling of the 01 team.. if you look at the current standings where we are and where the Rams are.. wouldn't that be something if we were on a crash course to meet again in the superbowl!!!
And arguably, Maye '25 is a bigger weapon than Brady '01, although the game is SO different not at all apples to apples.

I cant do this weekend but possibly could make the trip for a game before the season is done.
I was thinking the Jets or Phins games might be better for a meetup. Buffalo game will be a big draw so finding enough space might be a problem. Baltimore being flexed to SNF makes it too late for me and I assume other travelers.

I’ll be there this Sunday anyway. Unless I’m in New England, visiting my airplane. I thought about getting a ticket to attend the game at Gillette but paying $500 or more to freeze my ass off with worse views than TV is not a compelling value proposition. So most likely I’ll be at Murphys.

I can ask the management about getting us a section reserved if that seems appropriate? How many would we have? From this thread it seems there would be at least four or maybe five of us, is that right? Myself, pfVA, Pf1645, BTTA? Any others?

I will get back with you on a head count. The adult son would probably want to come on the trip, will check with him.

The only time I'm positive I can't get down there is the weekend of the 3-4... otherwise, since these are home games for me, just call me "in" whatever date we organize around.

About a reserved section... we're still talking about being upstairs, right? (i.e. a table?) Or are you thinking downstairs? (The full experience is upstairs for my money )

I'm not good for the month of December, but would happily make anything work in January. So, Dolphins on the 4th, or playoffs (which would be insane there).
Asking Murphy's to carve out space is a big ask, but worth a shot. Happy to agree to a minimum order if that helps.

@BTTA @PatsFanInVa @n1997y So it sounds like with only four regular season games left we don't have a date that everyone could make. Do we hold out and see what they playoffs look like to see if it works for everyone?

For me, playoffs just mean lining up earlier.

Any and all, let me know when any or all are avail.... e.g., 1997, sound like you're up here every day. Let's put together our "how to recognize" tips next time you do plan to get there, and I am okay to meet up. Also into whenever the group is avail

Upstairs, of course.

It doesn’t have to be a one-off.

I’m planning to be there for all afternoon games.
Yeah I'm with ya. I was just seeing if something could be lined for the first go round that works for everyone but as with life nothing ever works for everyone

I was googling the area around Murphy's, seems like a decent area but where is the parking?

I’m easily recognized, have never been able to blend into the crowd. I’m about 6’2” these days, and my last haircut was before the pandemic prevented access to my barber so I’m now a throwback to my hippie college days . No Pats regalia, usually wearing an olive flight jacket over an olive knit shirt, quite drab, and usually sitting in front of the big screen either against the wall or at one of the tables, with my iPad following the GDT.

I’ve always been able to find parking on Washington Street, usually a block or two away, most often on either side of the street between Queen and Cameron.

Street parking on and around King Street, but also tons of parking lots. Sunday's free as I recall, whether street or public garage.

& it's a great area if you like bars, restaurants, or clothes shopping (I lean toward the former). Just walking around old town is fun - if you dont get a space TOO close to the bar, bonus... Old Town walk!

This calls for hats and tshirts of our own.

I have a feeling if the Pats pull off the unthinkable or just get to the Super Bowl, we are going to hear from that weasel Jerod Mayo who will try to take credit.

It is the place to be as a Pats fan in the mid Atlantic. Whole top floor.
I grew up in Charlottesville and live in DC now, after a long stint in New Hampshire (hence the Boston pro sports allegiance).
We should have a Patsfans meet up at Murphy's at some point. Haven't been in a while but in the golden days, a line would form at the entrance prior to opening to get upstairs and get a desired seat.
As an old man, this is why I prefer to watch at home. At home I always get the best seat.... or at least the second best.

And having said that it’s now looking possible I’ll not be there tomorrow. Weather forecast here is for snow overnight, starting about 10pm for six hours or so, ending predawn, accumulating 1” to 3”. Problem is I’m at the top of a development called “High Knob” so I’ve got about 3 miles of narrow steep twisty mountain road to get off the hill. It’s notorious for sending unprepared neighbors into the ditch every storm. I would need to chain up for the drive down the hill, and I have not used my chains on my current vehicle so not sure how they fit…

The lavatory facilities are less congested too. And it’s much more comfortable than driving in foul conditions.

I'm checking whether we get it free on TV, or whether the network dumbaxes think it's more important to see the 6-7 Chefs get eliminated on live TV or something. 1997., sounds like you're a weather scratch, but tell me here if the weather breaks your way. Hey also, the line for upstairs starts at 12:30 for 1 pm games, do I have it right? It's been a while since games were big enough to worry about it... feels good!

If anybody wants to do the Murphy's meet, please check in by mid-morning, I'll make it my business to meet up... if not, another week!

I'm less easily recognized... right in the middle of the height range if a little shorter, with a few more pounds than I'd like, no hippieness to work with anymore on the top, beard/mustache mainly salt with some pepper, and a new fun-size wife who is to me, height-wise, about how Drake "Drake Maye" Maye's girlfriend is to Drake... She's still in the "I really want to learn about football" phase, so I'm hoping she'll be available to help identify me.
