What a Turnaround...

I’ve been a Pat’s fan since 1975, and they always surprise me. I was hoping for an 8 or 9 win season, I was thinking that would be a really good progression from two straight 4-13 seasons and a great start to the Vrabel rebuild.

11 wins so far, a 10 game winning streak (hasn’t happened since 2015). Really happily surprised.

Never saw this coming, completely thrilled, and just along for the ride no matter what happens, I love the 2025 season.

Optimist @scott99 has been one of the highlights of this season, for me.

Tell me about it. I'm a Virginia sports fan. Pats are keeping me sitting up straight at this point.

Checking in also from VA. I grew up and retired back to the Shenandoah Valley along the Blue Ridge Mountains. But I spent 30 years living in Virginia Beach due to the military and then PD. There is a locals bar at the beach that the owner flies a massive Patriots flag during football season. You could go in during a Pats game and feel like you were at some drinking hole in New England. It was awesome!

Hey there! I’m typing this looking down at Front Royal, so I figure there’s a reasonably good chance we are neighbors. Found any good Pats bars around here? The beach is too much of a hike…

I usually swing over to Front Royal once a month just to go to Stokes and Rural King. As for bars around here (Page County) I don't even know of any bars at all let alone a good sport bar
I floated this to 1997 once, y'awl come up to Murphy's y'heah? That's Boston brogue at the end of a drawl and I don't sound like either... but I'm in Alexandria and wouldn't say no to a far Northern VA get-together at not only the best Pats bah in the DMV, but maybe the best one outside of Boston. I wish I could say I'm a regular but I get there 2-3 times a year.

Yawl jes say the word and I'll hop in the cah Sunday!

I’m in Murphy’s for most of the early (1pm) Sunday games. Can’t justify it for the later games.

I would take Houston, here, in a first round matchup, in a heartbeat. Yes, please, absolutely. Watching the Texans piss down their leg in a Foxboro playoff game is an annual rite of passage I've missed,
Hope they bring their lettermen leather jackets.

That was such a good look.

Makes sense re: the later games. by the way... is there a chance they'll flex Buffalo?

Murphy's where? There are so many places called Murphy's

713 King Street, Alexandria, VA
It is the place to be as a Pats fan in the mid Atlantic. Whole top floor.
I grew up in Charlottesville and live in DC now, after a long stint in New Hampshire (hence the Boston pro sports allegiance).
We should have a Patsfans meet up at Murphy's at some point. Haven't been in a while but in the golden days, a line would form at the entrance prior to opening to get upstairs and get a desired seat.

Thanks Scott for sharing this. I was born in the 70s.. went to some patiots games in the 80s as a kid.. love hearing from guys like yourself who saw the organization evolve in the 70s. This team in my estimation has traits, and characteristics similarly to the 01 team..

They play hard, well coached and have a great culture. I agree regardless of what transpire the rest of the way this season is a success.

I'm about 100 miles away but would consider a meet up for a game.
Is the Irish Lamb Stew at Murphy's still good? It was the best. I didn't like Murphy's for Pats games. Been years since I went there but it was an inconvenient watching experience and some really foul-mouthed fans.

Yep - the smaht thing to do is be in line by 12:30 or earlier for the 1 pm game. Buffalo's pretty significant compared with the rest of regular season. It really kind of seems like this Sun. would actually be a good time to test the meetup concept

Any takers?

Wow, dedication! If we do get together Sun., it's appreciated, but if we want to make it, say, divisional round, I totally hear ya on the distance (with the understanding that of course you'd be back for the AFCCG and the Big One)

I cant do this weekend but possibly could make the trip for a game before the season is done.

Its on their menu at the Va Beach location. I would just eat wings and potato skins during the game.

Notice the Bruins flag....During football season they fly a huge Pats flag, its funny to see that so far south. Its typically a bunch of Commanders, Steelers, Cowboys sprinkling in some Eagles and Panthers fans for the area.

You’re welcome, I agree, they do remind me of the 01 Pats. Tough veteran players on defense, winning games nobody thought they win, and like the 01 Pats, not the most talented roster in the league, but they play like a team, because of the coach’s personality. I know that’s cliche “play like a team”, but it’s true. Everyone seems to get along and care about each other.

You're absolutely right Scott! They play like a team all pulling in one direction.. I just get that feeling of the 01 team.. if you look at the current standings where we are and where the Rams are.. wouldn't that be something if we were on a crash course to meet again in the superbowl!!!

Can't make it this Sunday or anytime in Dec. but would absolutely show up at Murphy's in Jan.
