Lamar is not getting healthy. He is a shell of his former self.
DTs are catching him from behind on a regular basis.

Even Shadeur looks faster, and ........

I don't see the union or anyone else inside the NFL proposing to roll back to all 1:00/4:00 games and accept the salary cap hit associated with that.

Because it wouldn't work, the TV contract is the owners' golden egg. Hence, networks are allowed to jerk teams around.

And it's the players silver egg as well.

You do know players share is 48% of the TV revenue?

Yes, I knew. But that doesn't mean teams -- as well as players -- don't hate losing a day with late notice, especially late in the season. It sucks for ticketed fans as well, essentially everyone directly involved with the game.

We score 28 against anybody we have a 85% chance of winning.

Of course no one likes it. I didn't like getting up earlier for work if I had to.

But this one isn't on just the owners. Yes the owners cut corners on facilities, and take advantage of the contract structure. The owners also take advantage of short careers, resulting in less leverage for players.

But TV scheduling is mutual benefit. Even the NBA with its powerful union has players sitting back to back nights because more games means more revenue.
