The title is obvious but the young WR we have are not getting their flowers with the league

Boutte just catches everything throw to him, can run just about any route and gets good separation.

Douglas out of the slot is shifty and sneaky good.

Williams as one of the best releases off the line and great speed.

Getting Diggs to teach them while Hollands fills in the gaps the core next year barring major regression or Injury is going to be scary

Poor Hollins, even when someone here sorta throws him a bone they spell his name wrong

Maye has his 70+ % completion rate in every game, because they’re all catching almost everything he throws.

Against the Giants 8 players caught passes. Apart from Williams going 1 for 1 for 1 TD there were 5 players who caught 3 passes each, 2 players caught 4 passes each. Hunter Henry caught four of six targets, nobody else missed more than one. To be fair Boutte did miss catching one of his targets.

The week before against Cincinnati 9 players caught passes. Henry caught 7 of 10 targets, Hollins caught 2 of 6, nobody else missed catching more than one of their targets.

It’s a very balanced attack. Maye is spreading the ball around nicely, and his receivers are all doing quite well at catching it. Fun to watch.

Williams still is a massive concern to me. He has had 3 huge plays and they were either designed or just vertical routes.

That isn't enough long term. I'm not saying cut him next year if he doesn't improve within the system. But even with elite traits does that alone warrant a long term spot? Maybe?

In any case they need to for this year make sure they have 9 or do lays ready for him in the playoffs. He is too electric to not get him more than 1 ball.

Kyle Williams is doing quite well Bob: we now have a Bye-Week he can learn even more. One things for sure KW is already better than those two Stiffs we Drafted @ WR last year. I feel really good about KW's future with Drake Maye... they're going to be a dangerous combo.

NIce recognition of Pop Douglas: he's really learning to play the Slot. He caught some passes last game: and heard the commentators say he found the soft spot in the zone. Pop have been doing damage on very limited snaps too 12-15 to be exact.

Would we need to draft next year or work on increasing depth elsewhere? A lot of draft capital used at the position in past that seems to have gone nowhere (Boutte, Douglas and hopefully Williams aside.) Or do we need to swing big again in 2026.

Nice class in 2026 with the age of some our older guys ie... Barefoot Mack Hollins and S Diggs: you would think we have to take another swing.

Other than TE, small part of me don’t think we should mess with the chemistry next season. Maye is not Daniels but part of his struggles this year is due to lack of chemistry with his receiving corps after significant turnover for supposedly better players.

This seems like a bit of an over-reaction. Williams is slowly improving, and his threat capacity alone gives him value. Not terribly concerned, personally.

This question gets answered in the larger context of where they want to upgrade next year. There are a handful of spots where an excellent player replacing an average one would be a big boost to the team. So they may truly be able to go BPA with this upcoming draft. Great place to be in, compared to where most of us thought they'd be.

it a total group effort which includes TE's and RB's

70-80 targets=Diggs, Henry
30-50 targets=Henderson, Boutte, Hollins, Pop
20-30 targets=Stevenson, Hooper
10-15 targets=Williams

the group has an amazing catch % over 75%

Agree with the point (but it's "corps," not "core," just to be an editorial ****.) Also, is it just me, or does Hollins look like he might have some people buried on his property?

Can you go check out his property and let us know?
Watching him while we are on offense when Drake goes deep is fun. As soon as the ball is in the air, he starts to signal TD and even stops looking lol. Love the confidence he has in Drake’s deep throws.

A good example is the throw to Williams. Get the 22 and watch him and Pop.

Lazar has a cool breakdown out on the Gintz game... you don't get the faces that way and its long on concept, short on personality... but it shows how much depends on every read following what the play is supposed to do - then a lot of Drake moving this one pigeon of a linebacker like a freaking marionette with pump fakes, and dropping in "low percentage" throws. The kid's special. Brady wasn't here in year two. It's hard for a kid with these natural gifts to have that chip-on-shoulder attitude/issue that drove Brady. I just hope he gets the absolute most out of his career, and stays on the field the rest of the time I am on the planet. I'm 63 now. Actually, I'd kind of like to live to 100, so that gives him 37 more years. Get on that avocado ice cream, kid!

Agree with the OP, we have a lot to appreciate right now with the WR group and it’s even nicer that 3/5 are young guys with potential upside.

What Boutte has been able to accomplish has been especially impressive to me, I think it’s a reflection of high character on his part. I see a guy there who grew up quick in professional life, got over “what might have been,” and has not let this opportunity pass. I spent most of my career mentoring young colleagues and always appreciated those qualities in people that I think I see with Boutte.

I think these new fangled stats are ********. “Expected” ? Who’s expecting what ? Catches over expected ? All ********.

Boutte has always been talented, was rated as a first round pick, but was dealing with an injury, brilliant pick by Belichick late in his career (you won’t hear that much from me). Douglas has talent, but I think they can upgrade the slot position, let’s see what they do this offseason. Diggs is a volume catcher, on pace for 80 catches. He’s awesome. Not the Diggs of old, but still good. Hollins has been excellent. Williams has to learn the offense.

One thing that is constant, Maye has elevated the receiver’s games. Reminds me of Marino, he made Mark Clayton and Mark Duper into household names. The Pat’s receiver corps are mid range at best. Maye makes them better. I’d love to see them draft a top receiver or TE (or both) to make them even more dangerous offensively. The TE position definitely needs to be addressed, both Henry & Hooper are over 30+, need a young stud pass catching TE. Hooper is on a 1 year contract.
