It's been anemic over the last few weeks . We just don't seem to have any answers unless josh feels he might need to pull into bag of tricks during playoff time to get this moving.

Without run offense is there no hope for red zone offense for us.

Brady used to throw those lasers. I hardly see Maye do those . Is that a weakness in his armory. Short yardage tracer passes ?

Need to find a solve before the playoffs start. Without that we would be a goner against other high profile offenses.

Pats in theory have quick guys that can get open: Diggs, Douglas, Henderson. Mack Hollins has some size, but they definitely lack that bonafide RZ target. Still, with Maye under center they should be much better finishing drives. Josh and company have two weeks to figure it out.

How about we replace bradberry as center during red zone drives. Will Brown and a jumbo tight end in wallace or fullback in Tonga help . Which of our linemen are good in run offense . I donno why we have Wallace?? at this point we might as well cut him and bring to PS . Get someone else from some other team to active 53.

I wonder what goes on with the Maye/Henry connection in the red zone. Henry WAS the guy in the Mac Jones days (you know, when we actually made it to the red zone).

I don't think there is a ton we can do this year. The interior line is weak overall, but particularly so in the run game, and we lack a FB or an effective blocking TE. Maybe it's worth giving Dippre a look?

They lose in the middle at the LOS on these goal to go situations. They need to be able to run the ball or have that threat.

Rham is ideal in these situations since he can run through arm tackles and is fast enough to go outside but if there's no push at the point of attack it's moot.

Is it all on bradberry and Wilson then ? Any practice squad center worthy poaching ?

You would think he'd be the perfect target and yet they rarely target him down there.

I don't know to be honest. Maybe double team at the point of attack? I forgot what game it was but we had problems running into the interior so Josh started calling sweeps that softened up the middle. Maybe some misdirections so the defense can't focus strictly in the middle. But straight mano-a-mano OL vs DL is not what we our OL do best on goal to go situaions.

There is no issue with Maye's arm, period. He can make any throw. To have a good red zone offense you have to have an offensive line that can dominate in run blocking, they don't have that, and building that will be a top priority this coming offseason.

OL and WR/TE's are not good at run blocking, forcing the Pats to throw. Rham and Henderson are constantly meeting defenders when they get the ball because nobody can sustain a block.

Boutte certainly made a nice grab early in the game. Henry should've caught the ball later in the game.

I think improving offensive creativity with plays like quarterback rolling out or using RPOs would help some. I don't think the D sees Drake as a threat inside the 10 so they don't account for him. That needs to change. Drake also needs to find a chemistry with the Oline on sneaks. Brady was Mr Auto on sneks regardless of the D knowing it was coming. Drake needs to figure that out. He seems to be going too high as Brady was diving much lower.

Wouldn't say no hope for us.. but i agree the red zone offense is going to be a heavy point of emphasizing. Vrabel said today on WEEI that the players and coaches all need a break to recharge during the bye.. I believe they will solve the red zone issues. Also Drake is a accurate deep ball passer look at how many plays of 20 plus yards have gone for scores this season.. like the 33 yarder to K. Williams.. this offense with Drake has more quick strike abilities.

I am talking about short yardage ones to tight ends or taller receivers.

Less than 5 yards we dont seem to trust maye arm.

Only explanation I have is they are reserving entire arsenal for playoffs

Yes got ya! Well that TD to K. Boutte was a 3 yard TD.. not really sure what the issues are.. they score quickly and I was just saying that drakes abilities allows them alot of deep strikes for scores.. so the red areas woes don't become such a problem. I remember last few a seasons this team couldn't even make it past the 50..
