Another mediot with a keen sense of the obvious who makes a living pointing out the....OBVIOUS. God I wish I had that gig. No one does that better than me. ;)

Very true. And you present your keen sense well too. Good fit like you say.

But you would have to give up your political opinions you are also compelled to talk about so maybe not a good fit after all

They have to justify their employment by trying to create some controversy, any controversy will do ... another choice is donning the Captain Obvious Cap.

Does it matter that Meyers has more throwing TD's than receiving TD's?? Does it matter that they have Red Zone issues?? Or that Johnnu Smith does not have a lot of TD's?? What does matter is that they are winning, BB & his brain trust have probably noticed.

Condensed space
Shortish rookie QB whose forte is touch passes, not lasers
New weapons still adapting
No James White
Automatica Folk

Clearly BB & Co are offensively risk adverse knowing their stingiest points/game defense (15.4 pts) will likely create more possessions/advantageous field positions

My pet peeve with the offensive play calling: Lack of first down, play action pass attempts... especially when the run has been established.
The 2nd (and 3rd) and longs drive me crazy

I am encouraged NE has minimized shooting themselves in the foot with mind-numbing penalties in the red zone earlier this season.

I am equally encouraged NE has been expanding Jonnu Smith's role as the season has progressed. The player is an athletic freak with the ball in his hands.
Early on, it appeared Jonnu was too sped up (like we see with rookie QBs). No question, Smith is on the right track and I expect AHern type usage when he completely settles in and the NE offense gets fully up to speed in the years to come with all its new parts fully integrated.

It's all part of the plan, my aoorentice, Dum dum Dum, dum te dum, dum te dum. For every "quality control" assistant he has breaking down their opponents, you can bet he has a few breaking down their OWN offensive tendencies. You are correct in your observations though. I believe he didn't want to have his rookie QB turning his back to the play, as you have to do when running play action passes from under C. But NOW we are 13 games into the season, and its time to unleash the McKrakken, and run some stuff that we've not done much of.

As for Smith, Bill himself has said that the hardest adjustment outside of QB for a new guy is TE. Smith HAD been a productive offensive weapon with the Titans. He WILL be again, either later this year, or next. That catch he made vs the Bills was just a hint at what he can do. Patience is all that's required.

The Pats offense is ranked 26th because after the first six weeks where they turned the ball over, had an abnormal amount of penalties and frankly were one of the worst blocking teams in the league they were previously ranked 32nd… dead last.

Since the Jets game, where they “got right,” they have been substantially better. Currently the Pats are ranked 8th in points per drive scored… so that makes them a top ten offense.

Numbers can be misleading. The Chiefs formerly were dead last in turnovers and fumbles, since they fixed their issues they have won six straight games. Currently they’re ranked 29th in turnovers, does anyone take any comfort in that ranking when they play the Chiefs now?

Mac and the offense can improve across the board, but the red zone isn’t some massive issue because the team has improved immensely.

Pats currently #10 in points scored/game
It can be argued playing in a windstorm and scoring only 14 pts knocked them down from #5 to #10
Regardless, the Pats +150 point differential is 16 points better than #2 team Buffalo

The Pats are ranked 8th in points per drive, it a better measurement for offense than total points.

If JC Jackson takes an interception to the house it gets lumped into total points scored. Not an accurate measurement of offensive efficiency.

You're right, as long as the patriots defense plays championship-elite and generates a ton of drives/possessions for the offense, it may not be a huge problem. Pleasantly surprised with how Bryant and Mills haven't been burned too much yet. This will determine how far the Patriots ultimately go is if their pass defense can hold up without Jon Jones and Gilmore.

Play action, qb bootleg, TE in the flat. Call it 3 straight plays.

I hate with a deep passion the jump ball fade. Stupidest play in football.

Yeah points per game are not all offense. The pats are pretty middle of the pack on offensive points.

Defense is not only scoring points but setting up a lot of red zone opportunities and a lot of offensive possessions in general.

Isaiah Wynn/Lose proves, yet one more time, that he is N.O.T. a starting-caliber LT on a legit contender. Period. Moving him inside to LG, Trent Brown to LT and Onemenu PERMANENTLY to RT should’ve been finalized during the bye week.

I had a feeling that on Saturday night Mac would either Emerge or be Exposed… His command at the LOS is especially disappointing, between the delay of game penalties and his lack of it enabling his OLmen to get jumpy…

…though he isn’t being given much help from his two choke-ass b!tch coaches…

Wynn is not worth the 11M next year, Pats are stuck and also the offensive staff is being political, won't slide Trent to LT and Onwenu to RT because they are jammed up with Wynn's big crappy contract. I thought Wynn would have hurt his ankle by now, but instead he's getting by by playing terribly.
