With the injuries last week (Campbell/Wilson) I was reviewing the O-Line combinations... thru 12 weeks, we have used just one two, as dabruinz pointed out, line combination this year, minus a few substitutions... That level of participation has really helped the offense perform much better this year... pretty sure thats not drawing a crazy conclusion... there are areas that need improvement, but overall Campbell/Wilson/Bradbury/Onwenu/Moses have done a bang up job...

compare that to last year... thru 12 games, we used 8 different starting O-Line combinations... that lack of consistency really hurt the team...

I am glad we had a sorta mini-by this week with the monday game, give the new line combination time to work together as a unit... while the giants may have just 2 wins, they do have a few players on defense that are really good... Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns are at the forefront of the giants defense... Brian Burns in particular... He has racked up 13 sacks, 21 QB hits, 9 knockdowns... We really need to focus on blunting BBs pass rush... just beastly numbers from the edge...

The new look Offensive Line does not need to be the Great Wall of China, but they do need to exhibit some degree of consistency in the blocking schemes so the offense can work its magic... am wondering if they will use a heavy set more than normal, keeping Jack Westover in as an extra lineman to help out...

I think these replacements on the left side will play fine. The challenge is that this is probably the best pass rushing DL we'll see this year.

yeah. that why i am leaning on the idea that jack westover plays more than his 15-20 snap counts... more likely will be in the 30+ snap count range like he was in the atlanta game...

Pats have used 2 different starting O-line combos through 13 weeks. Wilson missed Week 4 against Carolina and Brown started in his place.

Weeks 1-3, 5-11
Campbell / Wilson / Bradbury / Onwenu / Moses

Week 4
Campbell / Brown / Bradbury / Onwenu / Moses

It remains to be seen what the new Starting O-line will look like for the next few games.

Lowe in at LT for the Next 4 weeks is going to be tough.

Giants, Ravens, Bills, Jets.. The team should go 2-2 in that stretch,

Thanks... missed that on the quick scan i had made... going to update the op

i am hoping Lowe can hold his own... or at the very least, not **** up with penalties so we don't hurt ourselves unnecessarily... 11penalties/76 yards last season... needs to clean that aspect of his game up... if he can do that, he will be fine *knocks wood x3*

I'm becoming less worried about it, especially since they have a full week to prepare. Injuries during a game effect teams the most. You have to adjust on the fly. But when you have a full week you can do some things to help with the backups' weaknesses and emphasize his strengths .

Also hearing about Lowe playing thru a painful injury might explain some of his less than stellar play. Also you can underestimate the effect Marrone has had on the OL.

So, while it probably won't be as good as with Campbell, it probably won't be as bad as some fear either.

As far as Wilson goes, the bar isn't as high and the backup is better AND Wilson wil likely l be back by the Ravens at the latest it's certainly not ideal, it's the kind of adversity that tests a team's character. Let's see what happens.

Does Vrabel even know offense line techniques?

Yes the schedule isn't difficult but this is the kind of adversity that I think this team will face and overcome. They're that well coached this year.

as long as the modified line can play with consistent effort, McD can game plan around the new reality... i am expecting more quick routes, more Maye designated run plays. and possibly check down plays, if necessary

you can't take any game left on the schedule as an easy game... three out of the last 4 games are division games - weird **** happens in division games plus baltimore, who always plays NE tough... is it a murderers row? not exactly, unless RL shows up for the baltimore game... but its not easy sledding either

OK, let's make things a lot easier and beat the giants.
