Ya, what's the deal with Austin - I don't remember him getting hurt. Disappointed that he regressed so badly, he had some pretty good games last year.
Not sure about Munford - I don't expect him to be a big part of the OL, unless he leapfrogs Lowe over the bye and they cut Lowe and Munford is the new backup LT when Campbell comes back...
UNLESS - this move suggests Campbell is worse than expected. If he ends up being out for the rest of the regular season?

The deadline has passed, but there’s a possibility teams start shedding payroll at the end of this season or letting some vets go who they don’t have plans for in the future. Some seasoned vet might shake loose.

Ameer Speed is a free agent. He was released off the Cleveland Practice Squad on October 9th after being IRed..

I'm curious as to what happened to DJ James. Kid played well in TC, seemed to have won a roster spot and then was jettisoned after the game against the Raiders. He's not been signed by anyone.

Bring up Miles Battle… Alex Austin was a feel good blue collar story, but Battle has starter athleticism. We’ll see if he has developed as an actual player. I suppose the coaches know already.

Can you point to when that's happened with an O-lineman because I honestly don't remember it happening? One of the issues that has come up over the last decade is a severe lack quality O-line depth around the league. This was pointed out back in 2023 when the Pats grabbed Lowe and Wheatley prior to the start of the season. I'd be very surprised if there was any quality vet O-Linemen getting released this time of year.

I'm surprised that the Pats brought both Munford and Murray back. As I stated, Murray because they already had Jaimes and Rupcich on the PS.. Munford, I can understand signing to the 53 because that was the only way to get him from the CLE PS. They likely went with him because he's spent about a month with the Pats, so he has a bit of familiarity.

Whether they are stiffs or decent depth O-linemen going forward remains to be seen. Losing 2 starting O-linemen in the same game puts a strain on a team.. How the Pats recover going forward will really speak to the quality of the team.

It's very likely that Battle or Minor will be one of the Game day elevations since the Pats are so thin at DB with only 8 on the roster if you include Mapu.

I was surprised they didn't add another DB on the PS because of the depth issue currently...

Speed was actually just signed to the Texans’ practice squad on Monday.
