Can someone please explain to me where the claim came from that he got McDaniels fired from the Raiders. Sounds really outlandish to me and a load of bollocks.

The truth is that McDaniel's was fired several games into the following season after Hollins left for Atlanta.

When Hollins was first signed, several here complained about how few targets he had gotten previously despite many snaps. They weren't swayed when I pointed to the nugget that virtually all his receptions went for a first down or a TD.

Modern football is all about matchups and flexibility - someone like Hollins gives McDaniels a lot of optionality and he's a hard cover for a smaller DB or a slower LB aside from what he brings in the run game.
