NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 12 Other Games: Ω Edition - MNF - Panthers @ 49ers

Josh Allen has turned into Jeckyl and Hyde. One week he is elite, all world like last week and then looks like rookie year Josh Allen the next. Not sure what is going on with him. Yes, his o-line sucked last night and his receivers are mediocre on their best day, but Allen looked lost and confused all night and took way too many sacks rather than getting rid of the ball. He made ridiculously stupid throws.

Going into last night, the Bills had the second best odds of winning the AFC this year. (The Chiefs are still higher than the Pats to win the AFC despite not even in the playoffs right now. But that is for another thread) I never got it. It based on reputation than production on the field. The Bills haven't looked like a strong Super Bowl contender all year. Even last week's Allen six TD performance, the Bills struggled through a large part of that game only played well after some key defenders on the Bucs left the game with injuries.

BTW, it is getting near impossible for anyone to argue that Allen is better than Maye THIS SEASON. I am sure someone will point to the fact that Allen has eight more total TDs than Maye, but that is the only way Allen is better. He is a better rushing QB.

What does McDermott even bring to the table? All their wins have been thanks to Allen and Cook. When Allen makes mistakes or simply fails to carry, they almost always lose.

When Brady had unBradylike outings, the Dynasty Pats would still win more often than not.
Buffalo fans complain about Allen not having solid receivers on one side of their mouths, and on the other side, they complain about their average (at best) defense. The beauty of the Patriots dynasty was, the Pats could invest more $$ into the defense while the goat and coaching could still light up the scoreboard more often than not. Allen is not able to make average receivers excel like TB12 did.

The defense of Texans was other worldly.

Bills resembled pats of 2024 or 2023. No wr worth his salt , no separation and very ordinary oline. Their RT went down and that side was a total seive.
Could you lay part of the blame on Keion Coleman? Benched two games in a row with the Texans game showcasing poor offensive output...

I knew it was over when they asked what his new bride had taught him, and Allen replied "that I'm more than a football player."

Never hear that crap out of Brady's mouth!

Does Mills get a shot as a starter somewhere next season? Does some team look at him as their new Darnold reclamation project?
Mills put up comparable numbers to Mac Jones as a rookie on a substantially worse team. The Texans got worse next season and only started to fix their O issues when Stroud arrived.

The Pats should have traded back and got Mills instead of Mac in 2021. Bigger, stronger, not electric but efficient. On a better team Mills would have had an entirely different career trajectory. He’s Flacco-esque. Prime Andy Daltonish…

Either way, Drake Maye is far superior… but Mills and his agent should find a way to a QB needy team with talent and coaching.

I couldn't agree with you more. This has been a very tough 2 years (God are we spoiled But I guess I separate joy for my team, from disrespect to a worthy opponent.

I would get it if it had been a hated team like the Ravens or Colts, but the Bills have always been a blue collar team from a blue collar town like us. Isn't it enough anymore to beat your opponent, we have to humiliate them too? What a culture

And did I mention this iteration of the Bill’s Super Bowl window is slowly closing?

Don’t tell me it isn’t harder to build a competitive team after you pay your uber talented rookie QB.

Never hear that crap out of Brady's mouth!
What else did his wife say again, last year? "The Patriots are Josh Allen's son"? About that....

Edit: Sorry, it was actually that ALL the teams in the division are his sons, and she said it THIS year:

The Buffalo Bills are .500 against their "children" since this quote.

I heard somewhere that prior to 2020, Allen was not a guy who really worked really hard to improve himself. But because of COVID and his inability to do anything outside of football, he finally hunkered down and worked to improve his technique and football skills. They said that is a huge reason for his year three leap. Not sure how true it is, but I heard it on the radio.

But it would make sense that the more that his personal life becomes a bigger part of his life that he could regress and fall back to bad habits.

Bills Mafia don't approve that statement. But I guess I wouldn't too if I knew my SB window was closing.

Allen isn't really a better rusher but the QB rush is a larger part of the Bills offense.

Yeah Im calling it now...they overtake the Colts in that division.

Bills are lacking talent on both sides of the ball. No one assumes that, but whether by injury or roster, they don't have a top end roster.
Last night was clear that they're missing some important pieces on O - especially the skill positions. Cook is great, but they have a much worse WR corp than the Pats. Coleman & Kincaid out really hurts them. And their OL is dropping like flies. Also, Dawkins is not a top LT just because he keeps getting pro-bowl nods. I'm so glad we have Campbell over him.

Point is - the middle pack of "playoff bubble" teams is super thick right now. It's going to be a crazy battle for every team under the top 3 seeds, with only 4 making it out of: LAC, BAL, KC, BUF, TEX, JAX, PIT

Colts schedule gets stupidly hard starting this week. Chiefs (might be their easiest test), Texans, Jaguars, Seahawks, 49ers, Jaguars again.

They could legitimately drop all of those games.

Personally, I hate this kind of thinking.

When the 4-0 Bills were about to host the 2-2 Patriots, I remember reading some smug comments by Bills fans that if/when they won they would have a 3 game division lead after week 5, and would have effectively locked up the division in October.

We know how that turned out.

6 weeks later, with 6 games to go, we're the ones looking smug.

One game at a time. On to Cincinnati.
I don't see any sign of smugness on the part of the players, which is probably what really matters, and I am sure Vrabel will be all over the slightest sign of such a thing. As for the fans. they're fans, so a little gloating, particularly after the dismal ****show we had to endure for a few years here, is to be expected. Ideally we would all be gentlemen about it, I suppose, but that's an obligation under which we labor in the bulk of our lives, with sports being the arena in which we can give full expression to our testoterone-driven jackassery, you know, that whole shirtless-fat-guy-with-face-paint-and-a-spiked-helmet thing.

All i know is this feels like the good old days, the pats are leading the division comfortably while the bills and miami trailing far behind. I won't even mention the jest
