It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Trading in the division is always a bad idea when you have offers from elsewhere in the league. The Bills didn't do themselves any favors last season and have no cap space to pay anybody (30th in the league). The Bills need to hold onto their draft draft picks to infuse their teams with lowest cost players who they control for four or five years.I think it was for both, and I think it was multiple firsts.
I also think what Buffalo did at the end of the year last season resonated throughout the division. It was ********, and no matter how desperate these teams are, they're not going to help them out.
I think they'd rather spend their money in free agency.Trading in the division is always a bad idea when you have offers from elsewhere in the league. The Patriots have a ton of cap space - $54 million. I thought they would sign on big player with the money at their disposal.
Given the success of this year's team, the quality of player that the Pats will be able to get in free agency will exceed anything they could have picked up this season before the trade deadline.I think they'd rather spend their money in free agency.
Based on our need, I do wonder if we would have taken Campbell even if Carter and Hunter were available.Travis Hunter out for the season:
Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter undergoes season-ending knee surgery
Travis Hunter, the Jacksonville Jaguars' dynamic two-way star, underwent season-ending knee surgery to repair his LCL, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, per sources.www.nfl.com
So far #1 Cam Ward, #2 Travis Hunter and #3 Abdul Carter have all underwhelmed. Will Campbell the steal of the draft at #4.
Yeah, it seemed like after FA, the LT was still this huge, gaping need. I can only imagine how this board would have melted down if we had the option to take Hunter or Carter and passed them up for T-Rex.ehh, thanks Mayo?
Honestly, I had durability/injury concerns with Travis Hunter. But, considering the hype pre-draft and our huge need, I think, if we had the #1 pick it would be very difficult to pass on him. Unless there was a trade.
On the big picture, considering the Free agent signings, the missing piece of the puzzle was O-line. On draft night I was very happy with Campbell's selection, they couldn't go into this season with that position unadressed.
I expect we would have taken the same trade the Jags gave to Cleveland if we had the #1 pick. We would have gotten pick 5, and I suspect Campbell wouldn’t have been taken at #4 so we would have taken him there, but who knows….Based on our need, I do wonder if we would have taken Campbell even if Carter and Hunter were available.
I tried really hard to convince myself not to go the boring LT route but ultimately I wound up wanting Campbell over Jeanty or Tet. I would have gone with Carter or Hunter but by the week of the draft it was very clear neither was making it to 4.Yeah, it seemed like after FA, the LT was still this huge, gaping need. I was never interested in Hunter, not even remotely. So glad he didn't end up with us.I tried really hard to convince myself not to go the boring LT route but ultimately I wound up wanting Campbell over Jeanty or Tet. They'd both fit in nicely here but then we'd have had to find our LT elsewhere and thankfully we didn't have to try that.I was never interested in Hunter, not even remotely. So glad he didn't end up with us.
Carter on the other hand, I'm sure he would've been the pick if he made it to 4.
I'm incredibly glad it worked out the way it did. They'd both fit in nicely here but then we'd have had to find our LT elsewhere and thankfully we didn't have to try that.
Great pick. My next Jersey will be Campbell too I'm holding out for some new ones though not the biggest fan of the current ones. Hopefully next season otherwise I'll probably get one anyway.I'm incredibly glad it worked out the way it did.
I always wanted Campbell at 4 if Carter was gone.
Never once did I question his short arms, I had a very good feeling he had the athleticism and demeanour to succeed.
I still believe Carter is going to end up an incredible player, a sentiment I know some on here don't share.
I hadn't bought a new Pats jersey in several years, got me a nice Campbell now.
Well....I know a lot don't like the Rivals, but I do. I have so many of all the other styles, so a Campbell Rivals it was. I like it a lot in person, different obv, but nice.Great pick. Add Conerly and Ersery to that list, they've also done very well for their teams. I think Belton and Trapilo have played quite a few snaps for their teams as well. Unusually good results for a position that seems to have produced more crap outs than quality players over the past 5 years.Maybe. I never fully bought into either Hunter or Carter. Ashton Jeanty has also failed to live up to hype.
I'm a firm believer in building around the lines. Had some doubts about Campbell, but he's crushed it. Best possible outcome for Pats.
Armand Membou and Kelvin Banks gave also done well, plus Josh Simmons. Strong OT group so far.
I actually like the Rivals but I didn't see a Campbell in the Rivals rack? Maybe I need to look again.Well....I know a lot don't like the Rivals, but I do. I have so many of all the other styles, so a Campbell Rivals it was. I like it a lot in person, different obv, but nice.
When I bought it, the I guy I got it from was like "really, you want an Olineman?".
Mine had to be made custom.I actually like the Rivals but I didn't see a Campbell in the Rivals rack? Maybe I need to look again.
Just came to say these corporations are such Aholes - couldn't even watch the game because of the stupid ABC/youtube tv ********. I already cancelled Disney/Hulu over the Jimmy Kimmel garbage.
How much money do you Aholes need? It's astounding the level of corporate greed we are seeing. Fk Disney, **** ABC, and pretty soon, fk YTtv too!
