I think it was for both, and I think it was multiple firsts.

I also think what Buffalo did at the end of the year last season resonated throughout the division. It was ********, and no matter how desperate these teams are, they're not going to help them out.

Trading in the division is always a bad idea when you have offers from elsewhere in the league. The Bills didn't do themselves any favors last season and have no cap space to pay anybody (30th in the league). The Bills need to hold onto their draft draft picks to infuse their teams with lowest cost players who they control for four or five years.

The Patriots have a ton of cap space - $54 million. I thought they would sign on big player with the money at their disposal.

Given the success of this year's team, the quality of player that the Pats will be able to get in free agency will exceed anything they could have picked up this season before the trade deadline.

Based on our need, I do wonder if we would have taken Campbell even if Carter and Hunter were available.

Maybe. I never fully bought into either Hunter or Carter. Ashton Jeanty has also failed to live up to hype.

I'm a firm believer in building around the lines. Had some doubts about Campbell, but he's crushed it. Best possible outcome for Pats.

Armand Membou and Kelvin Banks gave also done well, plus Josh Simmons. Strong OT group so far.

Honestly, I had durability/injury concerns with Travis Hunter. But, considering the hype pre-draft and our huge need, I think, if we had the #1 pick it would be very difficult to pass on him. Unless there was a trade.

On the big picture, considering the Free agent signings, the missing piece of the puzzle was O-line. On draft night I was very happy with Campbell's selection, they couldn't go into this season with that position unadressed.

I expect we would have taken the same trade the Jags gave to Cleveland if we had the #1 pick. We would have gotten pick 5, and I suspect Campbell wouldn’t have been taken at #4 so we would have taken him there, but who knows….

I was never interested in Hunter, not even remotely. So glad he didn't end up with us.
Carter on the other hand, I'm sure he would've been the pick if he made it to 4.

I'm incredibly glad it worked out the way it did.
I always wanted Campbell at 4 if Carter was gone.
Never once did I question his short arms, I had a very good feeling he had the athleticism and demeanour to succeed.
I still believe Carter is going to end up an incredible player, a sentiment I know some on here don't share.
I hadn't bought a new Pats jersey in several years, got me a nice Campbell now.

Well....I know a lot don't like the Rivals, but I do. I have so many of all the other styles, so a Campbell Rivals it was. I like it a lot in person, different obv, but nice.
When I bought it, the I guy I got it from was like "really, you want an Olineman?".

Add Conerly and Ersery to that list, they've also done very well for their teams. I think Belton and Trapilo have played quite a few snaps for their teams as well. Unusually good results for a position that seems to have produced more crap outs than quality players over the past 5 years.

Also Booker, Zabel, Savaiinea, and Ratledge have started at OG since week 1.

Just came to say these corporations are such Aholes - couldn't even watch the game because of the stupid ABC/youtube tv ********. I already cancelled Disney/Hulu over the Jimmy Kimmel garbage.

I blame the senate. The NFL was given an antitrust exemption on the requirement that they keep the games available over TV airwaves, I.e free TV, but the senate refused to enforce this because they don't want to piss off their oligarch buddies. They could strip the NFL of their antitrust exemption any time they want to but are too spineless to enforce their own requirements.
