It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Per publicly released accounts, it sounds like he had decided to end things before his trouble with the police began. They did a welfare check at his house about an hour after the police chase broke off.Makes you wonder what he had in the car, stop and get your ticket and be done with it, so sad.
Yeah. This does not pass the smell test.Interesting that they have added the info about suicidal ideation was a concern BEFORE the police state. My first question was WHY were they chasing him in the first place, because I can see a kid being chased by the cops worrying about the end of his career and the embarrassment of being caught or arrested killing himself in a moment of irrational panic. So, I wanted to know WHY were they chasing him. If they were worried about him killing himself, a police chase down a highway with sirens and lights ISN'T what I would think would be a therapeutic action for someone with suicidal ideations.
I hope there will be more info coming
Hiya MazzYeah. This does not pass the smell test.
Only if you’re predisposed to olfactory malfunctionYeah. This does not pass the smell test.
Or he was feeling suicidal, driving erratically because he was in distress, chose to run instead of pulling over when his erratic driving was noticed, and decided to act on his suicidal inclinations after crashing his car while running from pursuit.Interesting that they have added the info about suicidal ideation was a concern BEFORE the police state. It's still unclear what came first (his suicidal ideations vs. his encounter with the police).Or he was feeling suicidal, driving erratically because he was in distress, chose to run instead of pulling over when his erratic driving was noticed, and decided to act on his suicidal inclinations after crashing his car while running from pursuit.
Could have been driving erratically in a subconscious attempt at suicide by police.
Who knows? Assuming a suicidal individual is thinking rationally is obviously not a good assumption.
If you think of depression as a valley, the biggest risk for suicide attempts isn't on the way down to the bottom, but just after one reaches the bottom and starts climbing back up. [As an example, Aaron Hernandez completed suicide just five days after he was acquitted in his second trial.]Just had a chat with someone who is going through it now...the thing is, the world is full of possibilities, and no situation lasts forever. The dark times will end and when they do, it feels like a new life.
It's too bad he couldn't hang around to see that for himself.

Well said.It's a hell of a thing
To me it seems likely the biggest question would be his domestic situation. I’d assumed from the described timeline that was the source of the report about suicidal ideation. But it’s all speculation.Seems clear that his teammates and coaches were caught completely by surprise. Though if I were a football player having suicidal thoughts, sharing that with a teammate, coach, or staffer probably wouldn't be my first choice, for obvious reasons.
That series of events is painting an ugly picture.
I can only hope there was no other death involved.
He sent a text to his Girlfriend saying that he was going to "End it all". She contacted the police for a welfare check. It has not been reported what transpired for him to sent said text.To me it seems likely the biggest question would be his domestic situation.
