NFL Trade Deadline Discourse

Just my opinion here, which I’m sure will get roasted, but I’m not wanting to give up much more than a 5/6 for a rental. I’m also ok with not doing anything and seeing how our guys perform over the full season. 4th or higher I’m wanting something that helps next year as well.

Feels like an overpay since he's on an expiring deal and wants an extension quickly. But the Jags are desperate for WR help. He will be their WR1 quickly if BTJ stays hurt. I'm glad I kept him on my fantasy bench the last few weeks just in case he got traded to such a situation.
Agreed, definite overpay

I have to assume this is for the practice squad; he hasn’t been on a team since cutdowns.
Well, in a circuitous fashion, he’s a Patriot. I wanted the Patriots to take a flyer on him during his draft year, and somehow, now he’s here. He has talent, maybe the Pats can coach him up as their WR6.

I’m pretty upset in losing out on Meyers, kinda pisses me off. Who knows if the Pats even tried, but I think it was a mistake if they didn’t try.

Landry’s leg got dinged up a game ago, he also had a sack the week before last… that’s not invisible.

Landry currently has 6 sacks, Chaisson has 5, Crosby has 4… why do we need Crosby again?
Still need a 3rd edge rusher.. these guys play an extremely exhausting position and it's always good to have a good rotation of guys that can spell each other.. Arden key is a guy that could help..

Myers to Jaguars for a 4th and 6th.

The Pats are not in condition to trade anything higher than a 4th round pick in my opinion.

If Maye is the real deal who can elevate WRs to perform better than expected, the formula is really simple, keep stacking the Oline and building defense. Sign or draft good WR of course if the chance presents but don't go full Bengals because that's not the formula to win a championship.

Rice might become a Kendrick Bourne/Jakobi Meyers type. Not fast but has good size and mobility. Stick him on the practice squad eventually and see what happens.

I thought he was on the Chargers PS?

If the Pats traded for Meyers, that would be less reps for Diggs and Hollis. They all play mostly the Z position. Meyers is not an X WR. I am not upset about losing him

Whenever he can get off the PS.. still waiting for Murphy to become active as well.. the waiting continues...
I should have said use Ponder and Swinson.

Fresh legs are better for pass rush.

PHI and JAX trade for players to help them in their playoff run. The patriots save their picks for next year's team.

It is a difference in philosophy.

Nope from what I was reading chargers cut him we signed him to our ps
Better still. He and his agent might have looked at that depth chart and saw no path forward. He was a good enough prospect to bring in and kick the tires.

No offense to Jakobi, but I don’t see who they bench to get him reps.
