Considering the pats have found success with Douglas as a situational deep threat I’d add Meyers for a day 3 pick. He’s a dependable underneath option with positional versatility. On some of these Maye sacks nearly all the routes are downfield. They really don’t have any WR running shorter routes besides Diggs who remains a 50% snap player.

Seems like the Pats are mostly focused on edge and running back depth, but are also doing due diligence on big names that could be long-term solutions (like Dax Hill). And presumably either the price is too high or those guys just aren’t available.

Meyers is a plug in and play type player: not the fastest but will definitely move the chains. Nice Post!

I would love to get Meyers back. Just adds another dependable weapon for Maye, and Meyers already knows the system to a certain degree. The man is always open, is a great 3rd down and short to medium option for Maye. Get it done Pats.

Keep doing what? brining their SB Window closer to a close?

They traded Bryce Huff in June for a draft pick. They just had to trade a HIGHER draft pick to bring in Phillips. They know that they aren't going to be able to re-sign him so they are hoping they'll get a 3rd round comp for him in 2027.

And there’s the rub.
We want guys that can help now, and in the future to continue our climb up the mountain.
Bad teams don’t usually sell young guys with high upside unless there are some other factors in play ($, attitude….).
I suspect we will try, and like most teams, most years, we won’t be able to pull off a deal that moves the needle.
Hopeful tho.

I am 99% sure we won't trade for a WR - even though that position has probably been the most coveted and discussed on this forum over the last 6 years. Even more than QB or LT (thankfully we got that figured out for the next decade +)
I could see an EDGE, LB or S coming in though.

I have to say, this is one impressive thread! 118 pages and counting about the trade deadline. Wow. What a difference a year and a real Head Coach makes. I don’t know if the Pats will even make a move today, but it has been fun seeing all of the ideas bounced around for sure.
