If Boutte is expected to be back after the bye, then I expect AJ or nothing at WR. If not, how can it be wrong to give a 6th to improve our 2025 playoff prospects?

FWIW, Boutte has apparently announced that it was a minor injury, that he is "day-to-day" and hopes to be back (at worst) for the JEST game.

AFAIK, that's not a "right now" thing; my understanding is that owners (or their designees) have to approve all trades.

Fitzpatrick would be a solid addition to the safety group. He has been good for a long time. 3 times all-pro player.

He is due salaries of 4.5m this year, 18.8m next year, and a voidable 9.7m in 2027.



If we can get him for a mid round draft pack the Patriots would be getting another experienced leader into the defense. I'm just wondering the asking price.

The pass rusher market looks thinner after Jaelen Phillips went to join the Eagles. Maybe shoring up the secondary is the wiser move now if the asking price for pass rushers is so high.
