Next man up.

I mean... just before the cultists go off the deep end. He's had a nice year but he's not irreplicable. JMcD is going to have to figure it out. Pop seems to be finding his way finally, so there's that. They'll adjust and it'll be fine.

Freakin' 7-2 man. Lots of goodwill at my keyboard right now. Even if they lose at Tampa... They should win the next three before the bye. At the bye, 10-3? Everyone here would have signed up for that.

Agreed. With no Mike Evans and or Godwin.. while it won't be easy.. the Bucs current offensive weapons don't pose the same threats as Robinson and London..

Pop's found his way right from the beginning, but perhaps you're thinking being in sync with Maye, which would be valid. Looking at his snap counts, it's eerily similar to his production (rookie year 481 snaps, 49 recs; 2nd year 679 snaps, 66 recs; current year 175 snaps, 18 recs). Completely understandable that he's not on the field that much with Boutte and Diggs out there, but the guy has consistently been one of the best separators in the league (based on NextGenStats data).

Good time to give him new contract offer

Boutte was standing on the sidelines after the injury not being attended to. If it was really serious, he would have gone into the locker room for more evaluations. That said, even minor hammies can cause a player to miss several weeks.

Home boy.. no one here is saying quit on him.. I'm saying getting something out of him is vital with Boutte sidelined should be the focal point no? He's out there and by now like Vrabel said the rookies aren't so much rookies anymore.. 9 weeks in and his last catch feels like it was in preseason.. again not quitting on him. He has an opportunity now..
Dude's ranked 150th in every WR category and dude is getting snaps. We have another Rookie WR who's Dead last among their peers! Didn't we trade Ja'Lynn Polk?? Really thought KW was more Pro Ready.

I'm not sure what we are looking at here. He played 55% of snaps, 62% and now he's at 30%, according to your chart.

Time for Kyle Williams to step up, just as Henderson did for Stevenson.

The good news for Williams is he is going to get practice reps with Maye and have McDaniels work on a game plan that will have specific plays to make it easier for him to contribute.

Williams is consistently open. I am guessing he is having trouble reading defenses pre-snap and making the proper adjustments. The McDaniels' system is a difficult system for a lot of WRs to pick up. Don't know what type of system Williams was in in college, but I guessing it was a far easier system for a WR to know their routes.

This could be a blessing in disguise. This might be what Williams needs to make the system click in his head and make him a solid WR. The guy has the physical tools to be a legitimate #1 WR. He now needs to get the offense. It took Henderson almost half a season and he was playing a lot to get a feel for it.

Diggs is proven and he's shown he can.. he's pretty much trying to go along with the program and has been very impressive as a leader.. I think you'll see diggs ramp it up especially if Boutte is out for any amount of time. Hamstrings are such complicated ailments for guys. Especially a wr. The guy I'd like to see start catching on is K. Williams. He has the talent just needs to get on the same page with Drake.
well that's the problem. We're over halfway through the season, and Williams gets 1 target in a game that Boutte went out in the first half. And the 1 target was WAY off - seemingly Kyle didn't run the right adjustment.

I said this yesterday, but Boutte is a very important part of this WR/pass game. Diggs & Pop can't produce too well on their own, and Williams is providing less than 0 right now (not surprisingly, since Pats can NEVER have a rookie WR work out).
Any hammy is at minimum 2 games missed, especially with the Thurs night coming after Bucs. And may be till after the bye.
I hope this validates the need for a trade for savvy veteran WR who can at least add something.

Meyers could produce here right away - but is a bit redundant to the Diggs/Hollins skill set.
Shaheed makes sense to take some of the Boutte role - but is not as polished in intermediate route running, and probably couldn't learn the playbook before Boutte returns.
Meyers is a better pure WR than Hollins.

He looked as if he wasn't expecting the ball. I know he's a rookie.. but by now he should have an understanding of how to run a route in the NFL.

It has to be said: Maye was a different player when Boutte went out.

Exactly.. this is week 9.. Vrabel said rookies aren't rookies anymore... K. Williams is a talented WR who's not in sync with Drake. No excuses. If he's not going to produce then give Chism a shot..

We have been saying that a lot with him: very worrisome.

The hope is.. Maybe it just tightened up on him?

When exactly did he go out in the 1st?
