Matt Light, Eugene Wilson, Sebastian Vollmer, Rob Gronkowski, Shane Vereen and Jamie Collins all ok.
Definitely had some hits as well.
I think we can say with certainty BB really struggled picking DBs in the 2nd rd, which is perplexing.

Pretty obvious this team is making roster room for something. In the works I imagine. Pretty exciting actually.

I agree.

It will be pretty disappointing if all they do is bring up Grant.

I too would hope we are making some additions, but if all we do is shed some salary/disgruntled players, should we not trust the guy that has completely turned the ship around 8 weeks into his first season here?

They’ve had an open roster slot most of the season. They filled it when they claimed Caleb Moore.
They just opened two, one will be filled by T.Jennings. They may keep the other open, or make another move before the trade deadline.

So I’m saying don’t be disappointed if they don’t even bring up Grant.

Simple fact: You aren’t going to get much for a DE you benched and then made a healthy scratch his last game when your team is struggling to generate a pass rush. If he was benched because the Pats had a wealth of DE talent, it would be one thing. But the Pats are likely buyers if a good DE comes available.

Sorry White didn’t work out. I wish him the best. Hopefully by this time next week the Pats have a much better DE to replace him.

He doesn't fit into the defense. He's more of a bookend edge guy than he is a fast pass rusher from the edge.

Just look at the size of Landry and Chiasson.

White weighs 35 pounds more than Chiasson.

It's not a case of trust.

I think the organization will be disappointed if all that they feel is available for them is to be net sellers.

Keion White sucked at actually playing football. Totally clueless setting the edge. Always blamed coaches. He was a fake leadership guy. He made comments acting like he was a leader calling guys out except he had no cache and never actually took accountability. People here loved the shots he took at Mayo but who the **** is he to be taking shots at anyone. All he was ever good for was bull rushing an OT into the QB once every couple of games only to run upfield by the QB on the next play to give it all back on a scramble like it was his first time ever playing football.

So it's not disappointing in a season like this that the team is a seller at the trade deadline?

I'm sure they will try and add.
Sheeding these 2 and picking up 2 6ths gives us the flexibility to pounce if the opportunity arises.
But it takes two to tango, and despite trying, more often than not big trades don't come to fruition.

Maybe they are selling to buy? Idk.

No. I do not find either of these moves selling underperforming assets disappointing.

I trust the current staff to make good decisions about whether buying assets available before the trade deadline is worth the price, so I’ll not be disappointed if they’re not buyers.

The fact that we are having “a season like this” just increases my trust in the current management, and disinclines me to second guess them

I don't have a problem with selling.

Get someone else's Kyle Dugger who might fit this system is all I'm saying.

It doesn't need to be a big trade.

We just need a piece or two.

That's what I'm hoping.
I'm sure they are going to fill the roster spots.
Remember those 2 guys were not helping us win.
If Swinson gets elevated and plays even a smidge better than White that is a net win. And we dump 2nd rd salary and a guy who didn't seem like he wanted to be here.

They aren’t selling productive assets to get draft capital like bad teams are doing. They are unloading dead weight.

This doesn’t preclude them from trading to fill needs. In fact, I expect them to make trade(s) to fill need(s). It may not be the splash we are hoping for, but I expect them to try to upgrade areas of need.

Addition by subtraction:

- Frees up roster spots
- Frees up 2025 cap space
- Frees up 2026 cap space
- Gets rid of guys whose playing style and/or attitude didn't fit
- Minimal if any loss of production
- Adds 2026 draft capital

Now let's see what they do with this.

Same speculation as with Duggar. I would think these moves portend other trades that may add some strength at RB and D

They kind of have no choice you can’t go into a game with Pettus as your S3
