Another slow/bad start, but they sure know how to adjust after the 1st quarter.
However - one clear weakness of this team is offense inside the 10yd - they just leave too many TDs off the board when they get 1st and goal situations.
But so thrilled to be on the top of anything in the NFL. Fighting for the division and top seeds in the AFC.

Vrable just confirming that Barmore was held back due to disciplinary issues . Wonder what he did ?

The ability to make second half adjustments is quite impressive.

Still have not allowed a 50 yard rusher.

Other than the 5 sacks and 2 turnovers, solid performance against a good defense.

It's hard to win in the NFL. 6-2 and 5 in a row damn good.
I must disagree on the adjustments comment, don't you know, once they go between the white lines, there is nothing the HC can do for them.

One for Boutte too. His long TD was a textbook on stem tempo and getting on the toes of the DB, get his hips turned the wrong way.

Getting better and better.
The kid's a natural.

The Pats made me some serious change today. The second half line was -2.5; we all know what a second half team they are. Two quick touchdowns and no sweat.
I had a same game parlay.

Pats -4.5
Henderson over 30 yards rushing, got it on first drive
Stevenson over 11.5 receiving yards. Got it on first drive.
Maye over 1.5 TDs
Maye over 222 pass yards.
Maye 20+ completions
Maye 29+ pass attempts.

We won too big for me to win, we just stopped throwing.

$25 paying $1056

Thoughts.

The OL will have a lot of tape to watch in the next week. Luckily, we don't have to face Myles the rest of the year. This was a good wake up game for Campbell. He isn't there yet. He will be... But he got absolutely schooled today by the best in the league, along with everyone else on our line. The interior absolutely got blown up too much when we tried to run up the middle.

Overall the OL which has been pretty good in pass protection got beat badly... but not all the time, they had stretchs of solid play. So it wasn't all 60 minutes.

Maye can make good WRs look great. Hollins and Boutte are having great years and games. Great QBs elevate their WRs.

I like the way our RBs are running. Henderson with the goal line fumble was annoying... but i will choose to take the good with the bad here in a game where they can afford it. 2 steps forward and 1 step back is better than stagnation... and usually par for the course for young players.

Maye seems to me a little like Rodgers in the sack (department). he'd rather hold on to the ball and take a sack than throw an incompletion. The difference is Rodgers did it with stats in mind. Maye does it cause he never wants to give up on a play. And at times that is a bad thing... At other times it is a good thing.

But good news. Take the sacks out of it and he did well protecting himself on those running plays. Which is a big improvement over last week. Maye is the franchise. He must play with that in mind. A loss is okay. An injury is not.

On defense first and foremost.

Tonga. Hope he is okay. I didn't see him need to get carried off the field or anything so i am hopeful.

There was just a lot of good play all around today. Gonzo was great. Davis with a good day. Jones did his thing. Woodson on that TD play really couldn't play it any better... Just a great pass... Even bad QBs make them sometimes.

The LBs with another good day. Spillane after a slow start has come on to be the LB we were promised. They seem to sub in the guy next to him constantly depending on the situation and recently they have made it work okay. LB2 by committee? If it is working. Fine.

The DL got good pressure today.. but mostly the interior from the looks of it. Landry is due for another good day.

The run D is absolutely sensational though. It will be hard for any offense to outscore us if we make them so one dimensional. And i EXPECT our offense to score some every game name. So as long as they keep taking away the run they force the QB to have an amazing game to win. So far in this streak no QB has had an amazing game. Some had good games. But none amazing. And if we take away the run to this degree, that is what it will take.

Eventually a few will, but i am not worried about it for most teams we will play.

This team 8 games in has a clear identity.

The Defense may be shaky at times, but you aren't running for anything on us. Your QB needs to out duel ours or you don't have a chance. As long as Maye plays at this level... As long as our run game isn't entirely shut down too... as long as our OL can block at least some what to allow Maye time to make some big plays.... That won't be easy to accomplish.

Anyone who's memory is sharp: any idea how this defense would look if we didn't have slow starts? I wonder what the ppg would look like that that point. I imagine it'd be very promising, as in, a huge thing to look forward to and motivate Kuhr to improve.

This team continually upends my expectations. I didn't expect a terrible season, but I didn't expect this.

I mean, even with the 2 blown coverages in the first drive, it was like, barely 200 yards of offense and 13 points.
