2. Slow starts: The Patriots rank 30th in the NFL in points allowed on the first two defensive possessions of games, which was one of their points of emphasis last week, along with making it tougher to play at Gillette Stadium (where they are 1-2 this season).

Defensive playcaller Zak Kuhr said the team structured practice to highlight having a better start to the game.

"It's something we're emphasizing every day. We have to figure it out. There's no excuse behind it," Chaisson said. "We're approaching it with that mindset to start out hot and finish strong as well."

Added defensive tackle Milton Williams: "I always talk about the first 15 plays, the [other team's] script. Teams see what is working against us on the first drive, and they're all coming out trying to do the same thing. Once we get our feet in the ground and get going, you see what we've been able to do [No. 3 ranking in the NFL for fewest points allowed from the third possession to the end of the game]. We just have to start sooner."

Couldn’t find his jersey

Triumph says: "Oh crap, screwed up again. Quick, gotta Google something lame to save face and make it look like I knew what I was doing!"

The facts:

After a few months of campaigning the earliest uniforms were already worn out; while there were also shortages of brown cloth. As a result, many regiments used the colors of blue or gray instead. This increased when in the spring of 1778 a shipment of blue coats arrived from France. This may have influenced Washington’s decision to issue a General Order that formed the basis for the first American dress regulations. The infantry were to be clothed in dark blue with different facings and distinctions to denote the states from which the soldier came.

From my understanding things, especially in new england, were pretty piece meal uniformwise. There was no consistency in dress or discipline as it was militias from all over the east coast.

Washington was from Virginia and had military training but most officers had zero experience and if you could read and had books about military tactics you were elevated to officer fast. That's why a bunch of senior officers were so young.

It wasn't til Washington got fed up with how smelly, drunk, and gross the militias were they they got uniforms and consistency which might have been around 1778 like you mention.

But **** was unruly for awhile and uniforms weren't standardized at 1st like both of you mentioned

1. We need to pressure Gabriel with our base 4 rush, and prevent another rookie QB from an all-pro game against us.
2. We need to try to sustain a running drive again like the first possessions in TEN (no fumbles for Rham)
3. Maye needs to throw a couple passes away rather than risk more hard tackles (w/concussions)
4. OL needs to hold up against this top Browns DL, give time for some screens to develop (get Henderson going)

Quick note - I'll be traveling this afternoon, so I won't be around during the game. I'll hopefully be able to hop on later tonight and get caught up with things, but I just wanted to let people know since this will be the first one I've missed in a while. Fingers crossed they can keep things going, and here's to hoping they can make it 5-in-a-row heading into next week's visit from the Falcons.

Agreed. Moving the pocket is vital and we should spread the Browns out to counter thier aggressiveness. Feeling like a great game for Hendersons skill set. Getting the ball out quickly, screens and boots.

On defense start fast, make this QB look like a rookie. Gonzo and Davis need to come to play and lock these WRs up. Don't let inferior WR make plays on you.

With all the talk about Myles Garrett it is interesting to note Harold Landry has been a more effective pass rusher this year.

Landry has 5.5 sacks to 5 for Garrett.
Landry has 6 QBs hits plus 15 pressures
Garrett has 4 plus 17.

What rookie Qb had an all pro game against us? The guy who put up 13 points and gave us 7. Net of 6 points isn’t all pro.

Maybe the Browns want to improve their pass rush. We could sacrifice and trade them Landry straight up for Garrett.

No RB has gained 50 yards vs the patriots this season

Nah Garrets contract is too big

Rattler was dicing us up.. the following week Rattler goes 6-13.. it's a coverage/scheme issue. Kurh and the defensive coaching staff eluded to such.. Vrabel said to he wants to affect the QB more... I'm strictly referring to the start of games..
The next week rattler had more yards than he did against us. 20/32 not 6/13
There is no circumstance where I would consider an offense scoring one TD to have “diced up” a defense

HOW dare you!!!

You should plan your entire life around Pats games

I'm sure the GDT will be fine when the Browns take an early lead.
